Aish still needs to prove he is best 22, finished season better but has to step up a bit to be more than just an average player. He is more in the group we are hoping improve and becomes part of our rise up the ladder but he isn't part of that yet.

How's that for a performance against a top 4 side with Fasolo, Reid, Elliott, Langdon, Adams, Aish* and Moore to come back in?

Seriously excited about 2017.

Massive respect for the Pies. You guys are building a very good team going forward.

It's the closest Collingwood have come up against Hawthorn in over 5 years. Unlucky not to win today's game but in a few years time Collingwood will be genuine Premiership contenders with the talent they have at their disposal.

If Treloar can fix up his final touch he will be a top 5 player. Only thing holding him back is that finishing.
Yep if he could kick well he would move up towards the elite group. He has a lot of great traits but his biggest weakness is part of what is also Collingwoods biggest weakness.

Truth is I think our list sits about where our position on the ladder is. Too many others already ahead of us have better talent. Today was good but this was a very average season and we were out of the finals contest early. Hopefully the critics don't jump on board and just consider the last few weeks of the season in their analysis. We still lack elite talent and until we find some we are not a serious finals threat.

Very reasonable analysis. Liked the way Pies moved ball today. Seemed to take more risks. Agree 1 or 2 short in elite talent
Backline missing that hard runner off half back to replace Shaw

It was our ball movement that also killed us today and the contrast is greatest when we play the Hawks because they move the ball so well. We turned the ball over with elementary foot disposal errors on multiple occasions and this is a pattern that we always see. Rather than a hard runner off the back we need a good distributor who can take attacking options successfully. Howe and Brown have been serial offenders this year and their turnovers on the 3rd Q were terrible. We covered that today with manic effort but manic effort can't be counted on week in week out. Teams with good disposal can count on that week in week out.

That's a big difference.

It's not Melbourne - where she loosens up the vocal chords in the first quarter:D
What does that even mean? Dees smashed your rabble twice this year (and had no problems dealing with Hawthorn last time we met at the G).

Anyway, enjoy the loss.

Who will Hawks bring in to cover Gibson?
For the punch ? He's a left-hander, and has punched with his left hand his whole career. The ball was set for a right handed punch and he couldn't, so his left handed effort looked clumsy. Nothing in it and perhaps people should stop trying to find things where there are none

Indeed it is. Hawks rarely turn ball over off half back.
I.actually thought Cloke provided a worthwhile option up forward. Interesting call there.

Its the direct comparison with Sloane that is relevant. Unsure how Mark Evans can suspend one but not the other
