Yeah basically this.

Currently the performances Mitchell is producing suggest he's a top 5 midfielder in the comp, whilst Hayes has been injured and almost certainly won't ever reach his best level of footy again. Over the journey you'd have to say Hayes has been the better player, but in saying that Mitchell is 2 or 3 years younger and is seemingly playing his best football now - it wouldn't surprise me if he closed the differential in their AA selections over the next couple of seasons.

Mitchell now, Hayes overall. Voted Hayes because he's been my favourite non Bomber for almost 10 years now. Such a shame that he's had 2 season ending injuries depriving us of watching his no fuss tough football that you can't help but admire.

Him. Hayes is an absolute jet though. Just injuries killed him.
