Apologies for intruding, however...

Remember:

You guys beat Geelong. On your day you can beat ANYONE. You had a bad day, get over it. I sincerely hope you play finals and SMASH the PUSSIES. I know you can do it. Your small heighted talented forward line is ideal against the PUSSIES.

Good luck for rest of 2008!

Cheers mate, but the team has to get to the point where we earn the right to play the Geelongs of the competition in finals. Best of luck for your boys for the rest of the season.

I don't think we're losing games between the ears anymore, we're losing them between the goalposts at either end. A wake-up call isn't going to get us into the top 4, nor win us back the games we've lost and the percentage advantage we've handed back to the field.

I know. Top 4 is gone. We're fighting for top 8 now. Are we gonna pack up shop and plan for next year?/?

We're still alive.

I have had enough of people bringing up that ****ing Geelong game. In reality it was 9 weeks ago, and we have done pretty much nothing before or since except for a couple of big wins against West Coast and Essendon on Anzac day (bit us on the ass ey?). We lost to Hawthorn by massive margins twice, we have lost to Carlton twice, we have lost to North Melbourne twice and we got smashed by Essendon. Thanks for saying nice things, but i'm really not in the mood.

Of course I still want us to turn things around, finish top 8 and be competitive in finals... but do you really think that a third loss (to a top 3 side) is any more of a "wake-up call" than a loss to the Bombers? Seems unlikely and illogical to me, but hey, I hope you're right.

Want us to do your dirty work for you;)

Bad luck tonight Pies fans.

Always nice to get the four points against your mob. Tonight was no exception.

I've been watching a couple of theads in here of late, one bagging Pendlebury and others Maxwell. Thought they were amongst your best tonight, both of them.

Pendlebury got you back into it with his clearance work and class in the middle. It was no surprise to see you fall away after he was rotated out of it. Reckon MM should probably throw the stopwatch away when you've got someone in there with a hot hand, especially given Collingwood's weakness in the middle. Anyway, good kid that one (your best I'd say) and those calling for him to "harden up" should look elsewhere for targets.

Maxwell was unlucky tonight. MM obviously was unwilling to change his gameplan and it left Maxwell one-out time after time. Shit Mick, noone takes Franklin one-on-one. I'm far from a Maxwell fan, especially given his wanna-be tough guy bullshit acts (that I applaud he removed from his game tonight), but he left nothing in the tank tonight. He was never away from Franklin's side all night and willed himself to every contest. He got done for class a few times, but he won plenty of 50/50s too. All a KP defender has to do to "win" is to "not lose" in the contest. The theory is that there's enough support at the fall of the ball ... Maxwell was horribly alone at times tonight, and that wasn't his fault. He won a bit of respect tonight.

See you next year.

Just remember

1) Your still in the hunt for the finals; and

2) Every team has a slump

Keep positive the form reversal is just around the corner.

Good luck for the rest of the season. :thumbsu:

We like to look back at the Geelong game but also forget that it is not the same side playing at the moment. One in particular is not in the side....Rocca.
Remember him?....that forward we don't need...the one who is past it.

We have really been covering hole since the Geelong game and it is starting to show and take it's toll.

I miss Rocca so much. We need him so badly. I don't mind looking back at earlier results, but for some reason it seems the only game that ever gets brought up is the game against Geelong, and it is really annoying me.

Also.
Cheers to the eminently sensible Hawks posters on this thread.
If we had not been asleep through the entire first quarter our boys may have made a game of it but Hawthorn certainly deserved the win and their place on the ladder. Good Luck and I hope we do meet in the finals.

You're a good sport mate.

*sigh* If only our boys would give a flying ****! I keep a torrent of the Geelong game to remind myself what we're capable of, I just can't believe the team I watched tonight was the same team.

However, I'm an eternally optimistic person, I'll down a few beers and get over this. Theres always next week, right?

Thanks for the game tonight guys:thumbsu:. The scoreboard might not have been too attractive from your point of view, but you were in the game for a long time and made a real charge in the third. Every side has the odd shocker here and there - I'm still confident that your boys can hit their straps and make a real charge for the top 4. Good luck for the rest of the season fellas (and ladies).

Been up all night doing the maths for the next 4 weeks..

And based on previous meetings, scoring analysis this year, form against top 8 sides etc, this is what can happen:

Theres hope yet

EDIT: I took into consideration factors like: WEst Coast and Port Adelaide do not want to win any more games, looking after injuries etc in Rd 22 (WB, Haw) and fighting for a finals spot in Rd 22 for an upset.
Wont happen but at least its something!!!

How do I put this bluntly?

We don't deserve a top 4 spot. No team that loses twice to Carlton does. That said, if we win the next 4 games, we are a chance. LOL! I can't believe I just said that.

I also ran a few things through the ladder predictor. simply had all scores 100 win and 80points for a loss. Picked all the favorites to win. Came up with the same ladder and the pies finishing 4th.

Came down to
pies win 4 games we end up 4th
pies win 2 games we play finals
pies win no games and im not back on this forum for 6 or 7 months

I said through out the early season we need rocca, he is our most important player.

And i was ridiculed and laughed at because we have medhurst we have cloke etc. The past three weeks have proved me right (doesnt help me any) without rocca we barely kick over if our midfield isnt 100%
