Help Save Neil Craig

I know:( Ive just put a challenge to a pro Craig supporter that I leave BF if he stays, and vice a versa. The challenge hasnt been taken up yet, but if he stays I may not be around to read this the new entry:(:(

I know it will only be your opinion EC but what do you think the split is between Camry supporters in the Pro mumbles v Get rid of the toothless git brigade?

And do you think last nights win would have swayed a couple?

on our board I would say its 60-40 anti craig. As for supporters over all thats a hard one, but you only have to look at the crowd last night. Yes it rained and yes we are shit, but its rained and weve been shit before. This was the lowest crowd in our history.

If last nights win swayed a couple then they are deluded. The rain made it a scrubber match, the Swans kicked poorly and Sydney are our bitches. If anything a lift in intensity may have been due to Doughtys 200th. Plus if they are going to be swayed by a win then they should be rocked by our pathetic efforts in 10 losses.

Craig was asked on Fox if the rain meant we could play a simple game plan, his answer yes. In his press conference he said no. He might have realised that by answering yes he was admitting our game plan was complicated. Van Berlo even said we were able to play a simple game plan.

Apologies to the Port posters, I didnt mean to write an essay but ask me about Craig and I cant shut up, ask my mates:D

Re: At least it's not just us anymore

Have to say that of the Crows fans I know in real life, I'd say the split is 95-5 in favour of keeping Craig. Its only on here that fans are real anti-Craig that ive come across.

Really? Of the Crows fans I know the split would be 80-20 to get rid of him.

Re: At least it's not just us anymore

There's one of those Facebook 'back him or sack him' questions on Craig I saw a couple of weeks ago, from memory it's probably 2 thirds saying sack him and 1 third saying back him.

Yep. One or two guys want him gone, the rest go the whole 'people need to get off Craigys back, hes a fantastic coach, we lost Mcleod and Goodwin etc, its not his fault etc' route.

Yes save him, people need to get off Craigys back, hes a fantastic coach, they lost Mcleod and Goodwin etc, its not his fault etc! (Sorry Elite Crow :p).

Yeah, I have the same experience.

As a desperate fan of a losing team it's really all you can think of, a change in coaches to rejuvenate your team.
We've seen coaches like Sheedy and Worsfold sink down, then bring their teams back up and we've seen coaches like Daniher admit he just couldn't get through to his players anymore and walk. That was part of the issue for Thompson at Geelong too, although his players were great he publicly said couldn't get them to adhere to new gameplans.
Craig is a good coach and an AFC man through and through. Not an easy combination for the club to let go of. He says his players still listen and if that's true he should be there next year. If the club doesn't think that true he shouldn't. I don't think they will be patient much longer, they saw at close quarters our dissolution after the 2007 GF and won't be prepared to see their downwward drift go much further.

Bryce Gibbs father wasn't a Camry Crow so what are they sooking about? When their corporation has been around long enough they will have their very own father sons. Brett Ebert's father played 392 games for Port Adelaide so cannot compare the two.

Well may we say God save the Camrys Coach, because nothing will save the Camrys CEO.

Would recruiting Bryce Gibbs a few years ago have saved Neil Craig ;)

Some interesting accusations on this thread, some of which, the accuracy would appear questionable.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=846446

Hilarious and pathetic.

Have read on this board that Glenelg was at one point going to be aligned with Port for F/S picks, which would have enabled Gibbs to qualify for Port under F/S correctly under both the previous and amended F/S rules due to the 1977-1997 window. That Graham Cornes worked hard behind the scenes to make sure that alignment didn't happen.

There's still a few of them blaming me? Man they are priceless. I started a thread way back on their board only asking if they were sure about Bryce's elgibility because under the wording of the rule there was no way Ross could have played the required number of league games (not counting pre-season comp and every other mickey mouse comp they could imagine) in the time frame allowed. Their supporters queued up to tell me I had no idea and that he was safely in their keeping.

Andrew Capel found out about this (no I didn't tell him) and wrote the article asking the question about Bryce's f/s eligibility that set the hounds loose. He even won a journalism award for his investigative work (which cracked me up). Rucci had nothing to do with it. Port Adelaide had nothing to do with it.

As I recall from the thread a few posters from Vic-based clubs took an interest and may well have informed their clubs. if you believe the grapevine, journos and club officials keep tabs on these boards and clubs would have been happy to deny their opposition a competitive advantage.

Bullshit.

It is all your fault.

It is also your fault that Taylor Walker got suspended this week because you said he was soft and that alerted the SANFL umpires who in turn reported him for a sling tackle that he couldn't possibly have done.

Because he wasn't even there.

But you were.

In fact I've never seen you and Taylor Walker in the same place at the same time.

Ford Fairlane is Taylor Walker.

And is deliberately playing poorly and softly so Mumbles gets the sack.

Bloody Port Adelaide.

Your infallible logic has exposed my cunning stunt. I'm Neil Craig too that's why I want him (me) to be saved. And that's why I don't pick Taylor because it's too hard to be both of us at the same time.

Michelangelo Rucci made me do it. It was all his idea.

Here's the thread they are talking about. It's still a good read after all these years. I will add that I asked the question not to undermine Bryce's eligibility but to find out how the rule was being interpreted seeing as they were so sure he was theirs. Really. Porthos, Macca19 and REH were willing contributors to the discussion too.

There was also a Bulldogs supporter who claimed he was immediately firing off the question to their recruiting staff to help out.

Father-son eligiblity ... a question

Just a quick one,

Hi Neil,

Do you have any teeth? And if you do how do you talk without showing them?

Signed,

Intrigued?.

Sad part of that thread is reading comments from 2005 on the potential of Ebert, Surj & Sal, and the banter between Port & Cows people about whether those three would reach Kane's level :(

Lol. Even if you were actually wholly responsible for Bryce Gibbs not being a Crow, what exactly are they whingeing about? HOW DARE YOU PREVENT US FROM BEING ABLE TO CIRCUMVENT THE RULES!

At the moment Craigy's players are doing their best to save him. Adelaide supporters will be pleased. :thumbsu:
