Thomas is the better player at the moment, but give it ten years and Higgins will be way ahead.

I'd imagine it'd be Higgins, considering that he's definitely going to win a Brownlow according to the Bulldogs supporter sitting behind me last week.

Of course, according to him, Cooney and Griffen were both future Brownlow medallists too... I assume he simply forgot to mention that Peter Street and Ryan Hargrave will take out the Coleman medal in consecutive years in the future as well.

Also, he forget to mention that when the Doggies win the Premiership, it's obvious that Jarryd Harbrow will win the Norm Smith Medal, and that at least 14 of the selected AA team for 07 will be Western Bulldog players, and Brian Harris will be the Captain

Almost as bad as Carlton supporters claiming "we're back!" after every NAB Cup final win :p

The fact that you think Thomas is soft means that he's extremely underrated.

Always goes in hard, tackles ferociously and puts his body on the line in marking contests.

Thomas being soft is the biggest fallacy on these boards.

thomas being soft is a misconception since he looks like a fairy.

pretty hard at the ball though. thomas > higgins

Neither of them will win a brownlow, but Higgins will be the better player over their whole carrers.

I knew Shaun would win. Just had to wait for all those deluded pie fans to finish voting before the non biased members vote

Taking solace in a bigfooty poll result is sad.

I bet you vote in Today Tonight polls too.

They would be comparable if Thomas could win contested possession... And if he got a fricken hair cut.

Just because he's skinny you think he can't win the hardball?

Thomas has more upside, he will be better when he fills out and has that something special that not many players have. Also he seems like a good character to have at the club. About size it's pretty simple, for a kid with X-Factor who wins contested possessions doesn't it make sense that with more muscle he will win more ball in the future? Plus his hair is cool :p

Thomas by a fair margin for me.

The winner is Higgins who kicked more goals playing for a bottom side and kicked four against the Pies in a win to get a Brownlow vote (Thomas didn't kick a goal). Higgins also notched up returns of 3, 3, 4 and 5 goals in a game which is impressive for a bottom age player.

Higgins v Thomas

Unfortunately the Pies overpaid for Thomas who gives away a heap of free kicks and finished top ten in that category.

Higgins would have gone higher if not for injury.
