I expect this shit from a moronic Carlton supporter, not from a Essendon supporter, most of who i actually think have some intelligence. Judd should have gotten off for trying to rip someones eyes out? Really?

Anyway as for Hille, people in here keep saying the game is soft, blah, blah, blah. And maybe it is soft, or at least softer than it was, but that is the game we currently have. The players know the rules, and if they break them they get punished. It wasn't a serious bump, but it was late, and it was high.

I reckon something like 220 points, downgraded to about 160 with an early plea.

To me, these days if you make any contact with a player it's like leaving the fight in MMA with the judges, you just never know what's going to happen, they need some F'n structure in that tribunal. A clear message of, if you do this then you get this.

Wrong. Both players were going for the mark. Bartel won the contest. Collision resulted. Completely accidental. Wasn't behind the play. Wasn't overly late. It couldn't be avoided.

Then you weigh in impact. Moderate to severe in this case (he literally flew through the air and cannoned into Bartell... however there was no injury to speak of)

He was flying through the air with his arms outstretched ready to take a mark. So, it goes without saying that he'll also be flying through the air when he makes contact in the contest. You make it sound as though he jumped into the air deliberately to take out Bartel. Ridiculous. And it was hardly "severe" either. It was a hard hit, but Hille also did well to not kill Bartel.

No, it didn't "look" good, and I can see why the umpire reported him. However, if you go back and look at it again, you'll see that there was nothing in it.

Should definitely get thrown out.

People around here these days see any kind of collision and are instantly screaming "HE'S GAWWNN!!!!"

It's getting ridiculous. Even more so when the same people then complain that the game is becoming soft....

I personally don't think he deserves any weeks, but with the way the game is going I think it's worth about 2 weeks.

That being said, he'll probably get about 6 weeks once they spin the MRP wheel of fortune

It was low impact, but high contact, and probabaly negligible. I would 2 weeks with a plea. He wont get off. He clearly made contact with the head.

Yes, he left the ground with the intention of competing for the mark, but he got there quite late, and as soon as he realised this, he did not pull out rather he intentionally swung his shoulder in to Bartel. It is debatable whether there was head contact or not, and that will probably determine if it is 1 week or 2.
I agree there was nothing in it, but that doesn't seem to matter much. He is gone, no doubt.

Gotta say, I agree with you dude.

The only question for mine is 'impact.' The front on replay showed he did hit his head (sacrosanct nowadays) but his arm was tucked in...hit it with his bicep rather than elbow. Probably not severe. But it was the back of the head, and he was airborne. Literally flattened Bartell.

Wish I could find a youtube of it.

He'd be pretty happy with 2 weeks with an early plea.

I'm a big Jimmy lover, but there is no way he should get any weeks for that. Not much more Hille could do when in the air already.

Will get 2 i reckon. Also Kozi is definitely going to get a few weeks maybe 3 if not more. Kozi's seemed alot worse.

Seen the replay a few times of the incident, to me it looks like the arm makes contact with the ball, and his body makes contact to the back of Bartel.

If he had hit him in the head he would still be seeing stars!

I wonder if SJ will get sighted for his attempted trip in the 1st quarter???

Although, i think that he deserves a weeks suspension. Cause Hille turned his body and used his elbow he deserves a suspension. He should've just attempted to punch.

Didnt realise a realistic attempt at a chestmark involved dipping the shoulder and swinging the elbow ( even though it missed )

Was expecting 1 week, and back for Carlton.

If thats the precedent, i dont think we will be seeing too many suspensions this season...
