after he trained only a few days after his injury to his ribs, did anyone else beleive that james hird may have played against the West Coast Eagles on friday???

No, he was never gonna play. He didn't do any contact training, just skills work.

i know that now but at the time the media in perth jus said - Hird trains...

He was asked on dribble M before the match why he trained and he said that the Dr's said the best way to get rid of the blood in his lungs was to run around for abit.

He was definately not going to play.

lappin played last year in the grand final with broken ribs...he just took about 5 doses of pain killers and wore a special chest brace thingy...maybe hirdy should do that for the st kilda game...we really need to win this one.
