Hodge, Ball gives his all but for mine Hodge is more effective with the ball and has better finishing skills. If Ball kicked more goals he would be better.

Hodge. But he is beginning to develop some bad habits. He is soft! I know he is a great kick, but i don't like how he stands off the back of packs waiting for the handball. He plays like a quarterback.

Ball is tough, but Hodge a more gifted player. Just wish he'd stop being such a Nancy boy!!! But then again, thats the Hawthorn way.

Hodge soft?

Hodge would belt the crap out of any Essendon player. Looking for soft players, have a look at your captain, who needs plaster to hurt the opposition. Your all dogs.

Ball. He doesn't get as many possessions as Hodge but he has more courage and fighting spirit.
Ball has plenty of those qualities, and is under-rated IMO...Hodgey isn't exactly found wanting in those areas either though. Little seperates the two in courage and fighting spirit.

Stupid comment. That's the first time I've ever heard Hodgey described as soft. When injury forces him to play the qurterback role, as is the nature of that role, he does amass some uncontested possies.

When able to play his preferred role, like last year when he spent 95% on his time on-ball, he is as tough and physical as anyone...moreso than most.

Hodge.

Ball's finishing skills are ordinary.

Doesn't kick nearly enough goals to be considered a dangerous midfielder, either.

He's tougher, but Hodge is better overall.

BTW did they both come from Geelong Falcons, or was Ball from somewhere else?

Strangely enough I thought both Judd and Ball were from the Sandringham Dragons?

What a midfield combination that must have been.

Judd :p

Thought somebody would've gotten in before me

Nah Hodge easy.

I've seen some stupid comments on BF, but this takes the cake.

Hodge. More class and skill, and more damaging.

But Ball is very under-rated. For instance this poll was always going to be a blowout since Hodge is a media darling and Ball isn't, but this poll should be alot closer. 38-9 is an insult to Ball, it should be closer than that.
