How could a list like we have be assembled?

Sadly have to agree one thing about most of our players is how dumb some of them are how many times against Port did you see one of our players take a mark & kick the ball into the player standing the marks hands? It should be common knowledge to get back off the mark quickly to give yourself some space so the ball wont be partly smothered by the person on the mark! Then not to mention how many times we kick the ball on the full!

Reckon Nicholson alone did this a dozen times

Just remember it was only a year or so ago that Nth supporters were pulling their hair out with our average disposal skills and lack of pace. Can turn around fairly quickly.
You fellas had the perfect draft. Atley and Harper at 17 and 27. A quick defender and a quick forward.

Hell, Dayle Garlett at pick 4?

But seriously, I was at the Dees/Freo game.

Draft some kids in the Blease mold, that want to take the game on.

Or maybe go after an Armfield from Carlton, a speedy bloke who's not in a teams best 12 players.

You scored against the Dockers when you moved the ball fast and put pressure on a defense that was out of place. Obviously, the skill level means a lot of these attacks will fail, but this is the sort of footy you need to be aiming at.

Agreed. That's where I've really enjoyed Blease and Nicholson this year.

I think the basics that Neeld's been teaching - the emphasis on winning contested ball, effort, all that - hasn't led to the ability so much to execute the skills on the outside.

Hopefully someone like Strauss can then slot straight in over the next six or so weeks and help with the outside game, penetration-wise. He's got fantastic agility.

That gameplan seems familiar. Could have sworn I've seen our players use it in recent years

It's a bit harsh.

There are several examples...

Who amongst us thought WTF when we called out a 4th year electrician fom Tassie in the 2nd round of the 2010 draft? 2 years on and Jeremy Howe is a shining light.

Actually we had a thread up about him before he got drafted - more a highlight package
and most were hoping that we could land the next Robbo.
I thought it was a good pick up at the time, I didnt hear anything bag that pick.

I guess we've been stuffing really high picks up for years that no-one really cares
too much who we get in the 30's.

But your right, its a great get, Howe is our best youngster by a space.
