Who the hell are we going to delist at seasions end? we will invest in the draft again and dont think we will trade, only for a Ruck prospect.

That being said, what 5 do we delist?

My votes are as follows:
Buckly(Kills me but will retire at seasons end)
Waklin(time to retire)
Ben Davies(Sorry mate, not good enough)
Danny Nicholls(no opportunity but has to go)
Guy Richards(will never make it)

Would like to see the club make hard decisions on Holand and Lonie and Mehurst to be traded, if not delisted, but i suspect there value would be next to nothing. Peoples thoughts? anyone that says holland should be on our list is crazy. If we had a clean out this year it would free our list up to make some promotions:thumbsu:

See the Danny Nicholls thread. Apparently we have no depth so this should be no problem at all.

why would you drop a quick hardnosed kid with a beautiful left boot?!
i would like to see him get as good a chance as toovey, cox and goldsack before dropping him... i rate him
p.s macaafer should be dropped before him

Buckley r.
Wakelin r.
Burns r.
Davies
Lonie
Holland
Licuria
Richards

How is that for starters.

Totally agree with ya mate except i think Burnsy has another year left in him.
Its time to make the hard calls we now have the opportunity to win a premiership and in order to get this right we need to be precise and ruthless with our list management.

Lonie(no heart)
Holland(worst kick in AFL)
Licuria(equal worst kick)
Richards(smaller heart than lonie)
Bryan(not up to it)
Medhurst(keeping a young player out)
Rocca(to be traded if possible. His best is terrific(one in 5 games)and useless the rest.......
ITS TIME FOR A NEW GAME PLAN IN THE FORWARD LINE.......

Pretty much had no pre season & was flying before seriously injuring his ankle against the Tigers.. The match he practically won the game for us.. On One leg.

Will definitely get AT LEAST one more year to prove himself.

Buckley
Davies
Wakelin
Bryan
Stanley

No way on Stanley. Any of the kids (last 2 drafts) will be big decisions. The only one I can see getting the chop is Toovey. I just think his skills aren't good enough, he's not athletic enough and is too short for key position.

Iles, Stanley, Cook, Anthony - should all get a 1 year contract.

Nicholls I do not think is good enough for the senior list. But I would not hesitate in drafting him onto the rookie list for another chance.

Taking people off the senior list will be by retirements (Buckley, Burns, Wakelin - possibles) and the club making the tough decisions regarding Toovey (as posted above), Licuria, Lonie, Holland, Richards, Davies and even Rocca.

Maybe one more year for Burns. Has been the heart and soul of the midfield this year. If he doesn't get it, he lays a tackle. In a midfield that is still one of the weaker in the AFL, he is a shining light. Not sure i want to go backwards next year and i have a feeling that losing Burns (and Bucks) would be too much. But having said that, i agree that some tough decisions will need to be made at years end. I think if we were to steal the premiership from Geelong or the Eagles, it would make it easier to send off the likes of Burns and Rocca etc.

My current standpoint on things:

Delisted
Buckley (ret.)
Wakelin (ret.)
Davies
Licuria (ret.)
Toovey
Nicholls (rookie)

Trade Bait
Lonie
Egan
Holland
Rusling

Rookie Elevations
Martin Clarke

Rookie Retentions
Sharrod Wellingham
Brent MacAffer

Obviously if we trade, using a pick, a player, a 2-for-1, or a 1-and-a-pick deal for a ruckman, then we could retain another one-to-two players and delist one of Richards or Bryan. The trade period comes before the draft and delistings, so we won't know until later.

Deffinatly agree here i like the fact that he paid the respect of putting licca down as a retirement such a great service of the club you would hope if his services werent required anymore that it was dealt with respectful even if he is pushed into retirement

as much as i don't raate lonie and holland may hold some minimal trade value or are going to be fringe players. Talk of trading or delisting rocca is crazy rocca will go on another year or 2 till reid is really ready then make way via retirement rusling is to short to be your main key foward and is not good enough or mobile enough when the ball hits the deck hawthorn and dogs have had small fowards as full fowards but both williams and johnson have a lot more tricks up there sleeve then rusling if rusling was our main full foward we would struggle to kick winning scores as well as the fact that his yet to proove he can be consistant at afl level

final 5 to lose there spot on senior list buckly and wakeling retire davies delisted nichols to rookie list then it is a question of wether burns and or licca want to go on if they were both kept the decision would be wether they saw improvment coming from toov if so i think one of holland or lonie would go if not toovey would go

I think Wellingham should be elevated. I know he hasn't played yet, but you can just tell that with this guys talent and work ethic, he will go a long way. I reckon we take the risk and elevate him.

He will definitely be elevated.

The club is on record as saying at the end of this year there will be minimal list changes and you have turned over SEVEN players:eek: Putting Scott Burns on this list is shameful and after listening to him on SEN he believes he can play for another couple of seasons. I must be watching a different game because this year Burns has rarely been out of our best. He's been a giant at out club and deserves more respect than this.:thumbsd:

He's 33 this year and there is no way you can play for another 'couple of seasons' when you hit this age.

At times he has played well and at other times he has looked every bit his age.

He's been incredibly consistent and perhaps our best mid this year. We can't afford to lose him with our midfield still in its infancy.

And why not, he's an important part of our midfield rotation, he only plays 65 to 70% of games and he was in career best form till the last couple of matches and has no injury worries and yet YOU wan't him out the door. In the words of Get Smart's Harry Hoo, amazing:eek: See if you can rustle up some support.

I don't think anyone wants to see burns go. I think as good as he has been this year he might be starting to show the effects of the long season. Fact is if he can produce what he has been this year then he might have another year in him but the fact is you want to see him go out on top the way he has this year. You don't want to see him struggling with injury or form to hold a spot his not been that type of player in the past and it would be selfish of us to ask him to go on if thats the way it would be for him. Only Scott Burns himself can make the decision of wether he can go on next year or not

Can see Wakes, Bux and possibly Burns retiring

Davies, Nicholls will probably be let go, young Stanley might be in some danger there as well. If another option presents itself (and hopefully it will), Richards should also get the @rse.

Lonie, Dutchy should be shopped around for trade.

He could go around another year or two. But you're right, he's probably on his last legs, though you can't question his hardness at the ball - he will never lose that!
