Double standards from the media in relation to the saturation coverage given to the recent Hodge/Lewis hits, but a strange cone of silence over McVeigh's disgraceful off-the-ball, round-arm forearm smash onto Will Langford's jaw.

Can you imagine what everyone would be saying if Jordan Lewis bashed Luke Parker like Jarrad McVeigh did to Will Langford last night?

Does anyone else feel uneasy by the current MRP system of trial-by-media?

The media seem to pick and choose which incidents they'll endlessly beat up and which ones they replay once and then no further comment. Where's the anger? Where's the vitriol? Where's the sensationalism? Just let it slide through to the keeper and hope nobody notices, huh?

I just think it's funny the way everyone screams about "dog acts" and "cowardly sniping" from the "Hawthorn thugs" but for some reason, nobody is too fazed by McVeigh's equally dirty transgression.

Compare the way BT, Darcy, Richo and Lingy carried on about Hodge and Lewis 3 weeks ago. They basically had a 2 hour tribunal session whilst the game was in progress with at least a dozen slow-mo replays of each hit.

Last night they said nothing. Richo says "Ooh, McVeigh might be in a bit of trouble"

He deserves at least 2 matches.

...but would like to know how Pannell missed it.

Probably too busy looking to reward players who stage for a free kick than give actual protection to someone whose head is not-so-sacrosanct
