This game was never meant to be a tackle fest get rid of the interchange and teams will spread out which will also improve the concussion rate in the AFL

False dawn if they did. Who were these people kidding? Must have been people just glancing at game from lounge room from time to time and only see mostly highlights and think that is what we see for 120 minutes of regular games.Mmm, we'll see. Most people felt 2017 (pre-finals) was a revival of sorts.

Another game into a new round and another ugly spectacle. It's the norm now. We got 32 more quarters of footy to go for whole round. Lets hope in all that we can find at least 4 or 5 quarters of footy that are a good spectacle.
Maybe all we're missing is contests - after last year produced the highest-ever number of games decided by four points or less.
KB and the Doc - Kevin Norton https://player.whooshkaa.com/episode/?id=191863 via @whooshkaaMake it unlimited interchange change again...there was no reason to limit it in the first place.
EFAFlavour of the next 16 months.
Make it unlimited interchange change again...there was no reason to limit it in the first place. Players will be less fatigued so there skills will be better, more high marks and less injuries as well from there bodies being fresher.
OopsIs slipping away from the Cats for sure.
Where scores at lowest level for several decades and 9 games a week versus 6 games a round previously, then more games decided by smaller margins is a given.
Did you do something?Oops
all that will do is allow more players to get to every contest to pressure the ball carrier, cause turnovers, and generally congest play. No thanksMake it unlimited interchange change again...there was no reason to limit it in the first place. agree. I was more interested in the NRL, and I find that sport boring tooAnother grinding congested bore-fest last night.

Kevin Norton joins KB and Terry Wallace discussing his analysis that a reduction in interchange will open up the game of footy and bring fatigue into the game.

Episode Notes
KB is all praise for Hawthorn's Isaac Smith who wants to see interchange eradicated.
Heresy to some, but 16 a side will do a great job in getting rid of the mauls. It will raise the on field skills because it in effect takes out 36 players [2 teams] from the competition. ie 15th & 16th will then become the least skilled players in each team! It's the easiest change to make to modern footy to have the most dramatic effect on mauls, skills, congestion and injuries!
This!!!!The interchange is root of all evils in the AFL today
KB love!
Last year's scoring was very similar to 1997, which only produced half the proportion of close games (6.5% v 13%).
Yep, dont mind it along with 6-6-6 at centre bounces, some minor umpire rule interpretations inforced and interchange capped at 40 would go along way to fixing the ugly style the game is played these days.
From memory in the ye olde days it was 16 a side?
