Prediction How will we go over the next 3-4 years?

Trade Jenkins and I'll tell you
Will never happen because the club would then have to admit they made a shocking mistake. Hell we have been carrying McKay for the past 4 seasons for this very reason.

At least port sent Lobbe and Trengove to the sanfl. Pyke would never do the same.

Trying to predict 3-4 years ahead in this competition is folly. Hell, so is trying to predict 1 year ahead.

How many of us were sitting around after last year's GF saying "Richmond have got this next year"? I sure as hell wasn't.

I’m the baby and the bath water. I’m done.

Cya

Who would take his contract? We have the same trouble with lobbe

Just * off. Don’t try to act like you’re here to be impartial. Just genuinely * off back to the last 5 seconds to the final where you lost to a terrible Eagles team.

No just Jenkins, McKay, Otten and Douglas....and Atkins.

Otten and mackay yes but the other lot no.

We play that Richmond side 10 times at the MCG, IMO we beat them 7 times.

Nerves got the better of them today. They settled quicker than we did and gain control. Our players will learn from this and be better prepared.

Are you seriously contemplating Jenkins in the team?

It's clear he's not what we need him to be, but you have Gov there instead of Otten and he looks a great deal better

If we are serious about winnign a premiership Jenkins should never play another game of senior football for the AFC.

We are paying him serious $$$ to play a genuine key forward and a backup ruckman. He fails miserably in both areas so needs to be moved on.

We'll have premiership opportunities in the next 3 years. Barring significant injury or trades, Eddie B probably only has 1-2 years left before he'll have to hang up the boots but the rest of the team core should be good for 3 more at least. After that the opportunity is lost, and We'll have to rebuild.

It's the cyclic nature of the game. We have to hope that we're peaking when the majority of the other teams are either on the way up or on the way down.

As s**t as the result has been today, we are still a good side who has a tendency to get ahead of itself and follow brilliant wins by absolute disasters! That is what needs to change.

There is improvement in this side and on the list in general but there are no guarantees. We blew a genuinely golden opportunity to win a flag. Players dead set chocked. Some have been writing cheques that they can’t cash.

Our window is in next 2 maybe 3 years before we fall back to the pack. What we do from here will be determined by our mental toughness. This can either demolish us or it can make us hungrier going forward. Making the GF is bloody hard, winning one is even harder.

We got beaten by a hungrier, more desperate side that wanted it more while we started believing our own publicity. GF history is littered by worse of the two teams winning. Even in 97/98 we were not the best team across the season but we were a better team on the day and that is all that matters. Hats of to Richmond. They pantsed us! They took our lunch money and kicked sand in our face today and we let them do it. They did to us what we did to Geelong last week.

Hope the team uses this hurt as a motivation for going one better next year but make no mistake, just making the GF next year will be really difficult. Look at WCE in 2015 and where they are now. There are no guarantees that is why when you are presented with an opportunity you have to take it as it might not come along again.

The Adelaide Football Club has been through worse things than this, and pulled through with apolmb. We cannot let this beat us. Never surrender.

As I went back to my bedroom tonight, I saw the Crows scarf I had tossed unthinkingly on my bed this afternoon. I picked it up. I looked at it.

Tomorrow I will be wearing it out in public, with pride.

Exactly. People are being so reactionary. Yeah the club lost the GF. It was more of a choke than not being good enough, we have seen they are good enough. This was our first year up the top, our list is quite young in terms of the back 6, crouch boys and the forwards have another 3 years together at least. They will learn from this big time.

We'll keep presenting to be top 4 or 8. Our club has a great holistic philosophy for being a strong contender during the season, but come year end, particularly the GF, it doesn't work. It's still the heavily invested culture setup by Trigg and Craig. Jeebus Christ we are that nice of a club we invited Richmond into the game yesterday.

It's the way we lost that hurts, turns it from being emotional loss to anger. Supporters should be demanding at least one scalp from that effort yesterday, whether it be players, coaches or administration.

Pyke has a combination of maintaining consistency to shaking it up, probably leans too heavy on the consistency side in the second half of the season. CC and Atkins should have been disciplined instead of gifted games. JJ is now a lost cause.

I'm sure Pyke will get even more say this off season and next season, he's a clever organisational operator. There are so many big success stories in this club (Laird, Sloane, M Crouch) I hope he'll keep chipping away at the dead wood (Otten will be next year's SANFL specialist) and get the culture to where it needs to be, from nice boys to world beaters.

Only Gold Coast has more players aged 25 or under than us. No guarantees, but we in theory, still have plenty of up-side.

Players aged under-25 at each club-:
GC 31
Adel 30
Melb 29
StK, GWS, Coll 28
WB, Bris, Nth, Rich 27
Frem, Geel 26
Syd, Ess, Port 24
Carl 23
Haw 22
WC 21

I think we win the flag next year. Interestingly so do the bookies. We should win most of the home games. Dependant on the draw we are a great chance of top 2 or top 4.

Lets not get caught up in the emotion of yesterday. Everything went right for Richmond, form, groundswell of support, no notable injuries. If we make it again I'm confident we will actually turn up.

Yesterday was such an aberration in the context of the season. It was unrecognizable as a Crows performance compared to the aggressive, skillful style of play and risk-taking mentality we've taken into the vast majority of games this season. There'll be a few list changes in the off-season, even the best sides should be looking to improve, but I don't think wholesale changes are necessary. Talent wasn't the reason we lost. As others have mentioned, we had a bad day but it was all above the shoulders.

With this list there's no reason we shouldn't finish top 4 again next season, giving ourselves another crack at this. We've seen how this club responds to adversity, I'm expecting the pain and criticism they're receiving and will continue to receive to be taken personally by a lot of the players, and to drive a strong response. They'll come out playing angry, ruthless football from round 1 next season.

and then we go for another Big Freeze at the G.

I'm crushed and can't imagine them not choking again. Zero confidence in this playing group.

We can carry maybe 2 forwards who cannot defend (Tex and Lynch)...the rest must contribute to holding the ball in the forward line.

I'd be looking for Sloane to play a Dusty role next year and increase his forward time. Got tagged out without a whimper in the 2nd half again yesterday.

On top of that add in Gov, Betts and rotating a combo of Hampton, Knight, Milera, Galluci.

Add in menzel and seedsman, although seedsman may be needed to cover smith.

Hampton is Brodie's replacement imo. Seed seems like another passenger. Got depth though when (not if, because it always happens) we start dropping and getting injured as the season goes on.
