Ohhh, you mean like Clayton's COLA![]()
Pick 1 and pick 10 will b on offer and we would be stupid to not consider.
Take boyd and pick up griffen in free agency and use pick 17 to trade for yarran. Take a gun gun mid with pick 10.
Out buddy
In Boyd griffen yarran and gun young mid.

They've got Hogan coming in to join Clark, Dawes and Howe - may not target a forward.Trade pick 1 to melb for pick 2 and an upgrade of later picks. Assuming they take Boyd we would still get first choice of the best midfielder.
Yeah i don't think GWS would give up pick 1 for Buddy. Would be MAD.
The only way i see it possibly working is if Buddy was wavering/guilty a little. Hawks get creative. Hawks go to Buddy and say "Sign with us and we will trade you to GWS", while at the same time negotiating with GWS to trade Buddy + A player (Sewell) for pick one + maybe a young player (not a gun).
Out: Buddy + Sewell
In: pick one +?
Then we can decide if we use pick one, or trade it for a gun midfielder like Sloane and someone else. I don't think we need Boyd at the moment due to our premiership window, so would go for a mid gun. But how unlikely is all this!?
Just want to say though, I HOPE BIG BUD STAYS! He is a classic.
Quite a common theme with big forwards playing in the TAC cup ,a lot of them are fully developed or as they term it in draft circles "have no upside" only have to look at Beau Dowler how much everybody was raving about him around draft time. (regardless of the fact that he came to us in a wheel chair). Is he that good?
I saw some clips on foxtel & he seemed to be a man playing boys, not necessarily an all-star dominating his peers.
Is he quick & skilful as well?
We were almost as bad as Melbourne around that period ,hardly outside the rules ,no luck involved or a case of getting a good run ,that's how things were ,the crap teams got priority picks and man we were crap! The Victorian teams also get a good run, you just dont hear about it as much.
Hawks stole Darren Jarman from the Brisbane Bears.
Hawks got Jack Gunston from the crows after 2 years.
Pies got Anthony Rocca from Sydney
Roos got Shannon Grant from Sydney
Pies got Buckley from Bears
Hawks got priority picks 2 years in a row and landed Buddy and Roughy in the one year.
Every team feels bent over at times, but what goes around comes around.
Cats lost Ablett and won the flag the year after. There is a fair chance you lot will do the same.
Do you think Hawthorn might be interested in the number one pick regardless of what Buddy decides?
We won't get pick 1 for anyone other than Budweiser.
Realistically the AFL have got no hope with GWS, the WSW in the A-league will kill AFL hands down Buddy or no Buddy ,it (GWS) will become a moneypit to keep them going in years to come I don't know why they are bothering.Look at the ethnic makeup of that vast migrant population ,Africans ,Middle Eastern ,to go with the already strong presence of English and European influence ,none of them could give a toss for the AFL soccor is and has always been like another religion to them. The AFL has got to give up this pipe dream of making the AFL a worldwide sport and the only code played in the country ,it just won't happen,As much as we love it, it is really ever only going to be big in Australia in the already traditional AFL states VIC,WA and SA and TAS with minor participation in NSW and QLD... nothing wrong with that.I just wish that for once they would look after the clubs first that made it this big at it is now and forget about expansion unless they are talking Tassie .Seriously dude. What is it about this statement from hfc70 that you don't understand?" The AFL are very concerned about the A-League and desperately want to swing things back to their code ASAP."
It's bigger than Franklin and whatever else you have in your mind. Its about hearts and minds here! Think about it.
