wow, just got back from the game after a few post match drinks, thought this would be a good time for my first post. great turnaround from a few weeks ago at the hands of hawthorn.

obviously many positives:
- sharrod continues to improve (3-0 so far, coincidence?;))
- the return of marty clarke
- travis cloke back in some good form

hard to find a dud amongst them tonight, only bad thing to come from tonight is the hawks on top of the ladder

best game from the magpies in a while, still in shock, hopefully we can keep it up against the weagles next week

Our pressure won the game for us. Everywhere around the field when a Geelong player had the ball, there was always a Collingwood player looming ready to tackle, hence why the Cats were indecisive, had more errors and more handballs.

Also we played down the corridor on occasions. We did a bit of it last week and also again today. Hopefully that part of the gameplan can continue as well. Looks much better and is more effective.
Couldn't have said it better!:thumbsu:

Nice to meet you last night big fella!

I'm gonna bask in the glow for a day or 2. The lid can go back on Monday.

Utterly amazing. What that says is that if we want to, we can push for a Grand Final spot this year. The list is capable. It's whether the campaign has the consitency to do so. This team lost to Carlton, and is only 5-4. You beat the reigning premiers by 14 goals and change you need to finish top 4 at worst.

Mick, the challenge for you now is that you get these lads consistent, so that our record come the end of August refelects the talent of our side, the same kind of talent that thumps Geelong.

Is it just me, or has no-one on radio last night, and today so far given much credence to our performance, but to spend more time on where Geelong are at? I would've thought both stories (our brilliance, their mishap) would've earned 50-50 airtime. If you believe some people, Geelong won (apparently Gerard Wheatley on 774 last night kept labelling the Cats winners).

Don't get me wrong, its good, no need for the boys to get big heads, it's only one game of footy, and its not yet June.

I have filled my "lid" with scotch and have been supping quietly for the last 19 hours....enjoying the moment. Might even watch the game again and "roll around in it" for a while.
Come Monday, as you say, I'll put it away and start getting nervous about the West Coast game.

The only game i travelled from Tassie to see last year.
Had a ball to say the least !

Good thinking, I should burn before I loose it. What's a dual layer DVD Pie eyed?

Just what it says.
You can fit 8GB (give or take) on a Dual Layer DVD so I use them to burn the game in High Def. If you don't use dual layer you either have to burn to two dvd's (1st Half, 2nd Half) or degrade the picture quality.
I like to have the whole game in high def on one DVD.
They cost around $8.00 each though...

Um pie eyed is there any way i can get a copy of these dvds?

I dont mind paying for them

I wish I had downloaded the ANZAC Day game and the West Coast game now :( I only have the Adelaide one (where Burton goes down injured) and the Geelong one, which is unfortunately corrupt or something. It gets to the 2nd or 3rd minute in the final term and stuffs up, regardless of what media player I try to use. :[

Shit, you'll have to put a spare room on the house to store all your DVDs.:p

I recorded last years games onto an LG 240GB HDD recorder but it is limited as far as getting the saved games off to make way for the new. Since I have bought some more suitable gear.
I'll start a new thread on "Recording and Storing Matches" in the Nest so others can add their ideas without derailing this thread any more.

With all due respect, this thread has gone way off-topic, and was a dubious bump to begin with - If anyone wants to continue their discussion, do it in the Magpies Nest or via PM.
