I know this is a practice game and it doesn't matter so much but what I love is this!

Betts - 3 goals
Henderson - 2 goals
Yarran - 2 goals
Robinson - 2 goals

Thats where are goals are going to come from!!! Plus we got our fantastic midfield to get a few each game!

CARLTON FOOTBALL CLUB!!!!

Plus Jarred Waite I think will be a key forward whom at midyear will hopefully get full confidence back in his game and knee and dominate...

Having Waite, Henderson, Yarran, Betts and rotating Robinson/Hoops/Walker/Kreuzer/Hampson/Warnock etc into the forward line is going to be very nice in a couple months of gelling me thinks.

Yep we have a lot of look forward to!

Plus our defence held up well keeping fev to only 2 goals I believe.

The unpredictability of our forward line will be our key asset this year. A good result may be 12+ players kicking 15 or more goals each this year....

Henderson/Waite/Yarran/Betts/Houlihan/Robinson/Murphy/Judd/Gibbs/Walker/Kruezer/Hampson/Simpson/Scotland

Maybe our leading goalkicker this year might win it with 30 goals....

Exciting times ahead!

Reading about how well Yarran and Henderson played has got me excited about them too. However, we must remember that they are still very young and will take time before they start playing consistent good footy. Well done to the boys today though :thumbsu:

Jamison completely nullified Fev.

Three of Fev's kicks at goal came from free kicks. Fev only took a couple of marks on the lead, but apart from that Jamison was like glue.

Hendo went very well, presented well, WE looked good when we kept th eball moving. Jamo smashed Fev, Fev got a couple of soft frees, maybe they will start giving him the soft frees he never got with us.
What a differnce with Walker, simpson and Betts in the side. Swap Wiggo and Anderson with Armfield and Austin and thats our backline settled. Bring in Murphy and Waite and thats added strength in midfield and either back or forward. Kreuzer belongs in the Middle, rucking and chasing the ball all around the ground. Some of his taps were exquisite today. Setanta had a big part in bringing us back into the game in the third. Gibbs will be a superstar this year. Scotland was close to BOG today. Walker played well, lots of run. Still not convinced with Russell. Mitch will be aplayer for us, just gives it his all and creates a contest. It was a pretty willing game and both teams wanted to win. Hadley played well today. Yarran only needs to beleive that he belongs and when he does then watch out.

Maybe Fev getting the arse was a good thing for him as well. Seems to have really stepped up this season. :thumbsu:

Can only be positive about this game. Warnock had this one unbelievable tap to judd at the start of the 3rd quarter, got me very excited. Simmo took some super marks. Sentanta is the key. Every mark stuck!!. I reckon he was absolutely super. Jamo was BOG, what a star he'll be. Only 3 average players on the field. Russell and Mclean are in our 22, and will find their feet. But i just don't think steven browne is up to it. Sorry WA fans

why did fev get the free (1st goal) when Bower courageously got infront of fev to spoil:confused:

Think it was for interference, although I thought the free should have gone to Bower when Fev smashed into his back.

Shattered I didn't get down to see that game. Seems like the boys played really well and (like I knew they would) our additions into the side really helped.

It's good to see a good spread of goals..and it's even better to see some positive comments going around the boards tonight.

Simmo, Carrots, Judd, Robbo all looked great.

Eddie and Walks were brilliant. Yarran started off fantastically and Hendo finished off fantastically. Good run overall.....

Gee Gibbsy is getting better each week. I think he may just be Top 10 in the league by end 2010. Very, very impressive - never wastes a kick, super aggressive tackler and composed beyond belief

I'm sure Murph will give him a run for his money. :P

what about setant? i thought he was awesome yday, especially in the third where he set up 3 goals. This is the chf we've been looking for!! got good hands now and has the agility/speed to get the ball at ground level.
GO CARLOS!

Yep, and he's starting to become football smart - won't use a possession when it's not needed - cleverly flicks the ball along, or punches it over the top. Set up a few yesterday doing just that.

Let's hope he's in for a big season!

When he is not within easy range he simply HAS to learn to go back his full distance before looking for options. This looking to hand-off after barely landing from a mark is cruelling his game. I love it when he does give it off and we maintain momentum but it ain't gonna always be the way to go and he is getting himself and his team-mates into massive shit by giving the ball to blokes who either aren't prepared for it or who are well under the pump. Having said that I was bloody happy with his efforts Friday. Heart bigger than a famous horse with a very big heart. :thumbsu:

That is something that should be sorted out this year. Moving the ball on to someone running past will be a feature of his game I think, but he has to learn to recognise when and more importantly who he should be handing the ball off to. Once he gets this sorted out, he will become even better as a CHF.

Imagine where Irish would be if they had left him in the forward line from the start. Amount of games they persisted with him in the backline and the ruck certainly didn't help his development.

He kicked 7 goals against Williamstown (I think or it might have been port melbourne) as CHF and was showing a lot of promise in that position... I think that he was swung down back to try and cover for our deficiences there.
