If Travis Cloke does decide to leave Collingwood, who do you think the Pies
would 'chase' with the $500,000+ that would open up in their salary cap?

No one. I believe Sidebottom, Beams, Wellingham and Ball all have to be re-signed so that 'extra money' will go towards those players.

If Jolly retires then they will use his wage to get another experienced ruckman like Jamar.

Don't worry we have a contingency plan, in fact it's pretty common knowledge that Collingwood have already approached managers of some of the big free agents and just registered their interest, just in case Cloke leaves.

Let's say Trav leaves, well there's a 700k (our latest offer to him) in the Cap, and yes, some of that would go to the other uncontracted players, but it's likely most of them will be signed by the time Trav makes up his mind anyway.

We would get someone, it may not be a Goddard type massive name, but we would pick up a free agent from somewhere, of that I have no doubt.

Pick up Cameron from GWS. Love the way he plays.

Seriously though, we'd probably have a look at midfield because KP forwards just aren't available.

still don't think he'll leave but if he does we'll restructure our game plan, build it around more mobile kpp's like Dawes, Paine, groom Witts as the power forward with stints as relief ruck and then, maybe a strong marking type like Charlie Dixon from the Suns (who could do well being fed by a good midfield)

Not sure if Jeremy Cameron would be available right now. And don't want to get into a bidding war for him - he's not that good yet

Let's not try to get a Cloke V2 either - that type of player is too hard to find and takes a while to groom.

F----- if I know why we are even speculating about him leaving,I think the list of suitable destinations for Cloke to go to are growing shorter by the week.;)

I don't want to be contraversial, but you could say much the same about Thomas.

I think you wrong there his 1st half of 2011 was very good he only lost his way after his 2 suspensions, speaking of suspensions I heard a rumour he might be trouble for incident with Chapman does anyone know anything about this.

He kind of open handed bnked him on the head... pretty low force though and he immediately apologized, chapman got a big angry but i think a reprimand or nothing will be the outcome

Cloke will not go anywhere.

Any interstate club he will not go to.You do know his old man is good mates with people up at gws,if he was going to go anywhere it would be there but they already said they dont want him. The clokes are a very close family and will not be apart from eachother.

He even said himself it is not all about the money.

He has several very good mates at collingwood,he gets on with bucks.

He will not go to Melbourne,i mean look at them this year, why would he leave collingwood to go to melbourne..

He wont go to richmond they dont have enough money. And they rejected him and his brothers already under the father/son rule years ago.

He wont go to the dogs.He was offered more money at the end of his last contract to play with essendon. He rejected it.

All david cloke is trying to do is get the best deal for his son and looking out for travs best interest. It is normal he is going to entertain talks with other clubs to rival whatever collingwood offers.

Im confident. He'll stay. Not worried one bit :):thumbsu:
