Illegal things you should be able to do

Seriously
●Go a "reasonable" speed above the speed limit if it is reasonably safe to do so. 70 in a 50 zone at 1am is perfectly safe
●All manner of drugs, it's your body, but it shouldn't be easily available you should have to buy a hit or a couple of a hits at a time to reduce people becoming junkies and addicts (obviously a black market will develop, but at least this way regular people who don't want unterract with criminals and scum can get a legal hit of something once a month)
●Young Adults between the ages of 16 and 18 should not be placed on the sex offenders registry for having explicit photos of their girlfriend/boyfriend etc. I know its not a commom thing that the people who know they are there will dob you in, but its still classified as child pr0n if it is found in your possession, even if it was willingly given to you by your partner (won't somebody please stop thinking for the children)
●P Platers Should not be punished for having under the legal limit of alcohol in their system. If we have decided its fine for an 85 year old, a middle aged mother or a person one day off their p's to have 0.08 then its only logical that p platers can as well. 0.08 is what we have determined does not affect your driving so why should it for platers. I know it is to deter heavy drink driving, but they should be able to drive home after having some rum balls, or drive home in the morning after drinking when you still give off a reading.

Not Serious
●Find the adress of Internet trolls, go to their house, and beat the shit out of their cheeto covered face in their moms basement
●Go to america and shoot people who are pro gun
●Knock around a hooker
●Tell transit guards they are not cops and too **** off

Insert clapping gif here.

Is that large percentage of crime got anything to do with the illegal status of drugs in the first place?

Would think it'd have more to do with obtaining cash/goods that can be sold to buy drugs.

2. Cross the road whenever you want. No jaywalking...no pso mutts trying to get a hard on by dicking you for such a minor issue. FFS, just cross when you want.

Isn't the "jaywalking" charge a myth in Australia? People seem to cross the road whenever they like from what I've seen, and I've never seen any consequence come from it, beyond people simply getting to where they want to go.

You should be able to buy beer anywhere. Servos, corner stores, supermarkets etc. They do this everywhere else in the world and there doesn't seem to be any problems.

Then of course, you should be able to walk around with, and drink said beer in public. Again, everywhere else in the world.

Can Australians not be trusted?

Nope, my friend got a fine for it. He did walk infront of a cop car like an idiot, though.

Yeah I've just never seen or heard of it actually happen.

Was your friend anywhere near an actual crossing? Or was he just crossing a street where there weren't any lights and so on?

- Be able to smoke and possess marijuana. I think this will be a reality in the not too distant future.
- Jaywalk

I don't really understand any posts about driving over the speed limit. Nearly lost my brother in a car accident a couple of years ago and the driver lost her life. The speed limits are there for a very good reason.

There is no need for speed limits in most situations actually

People drive at safe speeds, the majority of drivers are aware of exactly what a safe speed on the road is.

This is why you see people floating down main roads that are 50 at 58, or why everyone goes 115 on hwys even though the speed limit is 100

There are dangerous speeds to go at in certain areas but in any amount of mild traffic general mob speed will dictate the flow of traffic.

Personally I think there should be a "cap" on speed limits with perhaps a suggested speed.

For example

70 cap 50 suggested on suburban streets
90 cap 70 suggested on main roads
130 cap 100 suggested on freeways and highways.

I feel safer driving when I'm watching the road and not the speedometer. Then I naturally drive at a speed I feel comfortable with... Speed limits are stupid. I like your cap idea. :thumbsu:

Travel into the Melbourne CBD at some stage during morning peak hour, police will regularly do a crack down outside Flinders & Spencer St railway stations. It's amazing how many people do it even though there are two uniformed police on every corner, one lining them up the other writing the tickets.

Chop down trees where greenies have set up a camp to block logging trucks.

That would be epic funny. The look on someone who's chained to a trees face when they start up the chainsaw and start cutting.

Definitely not a myth.

My housemate in Melbourne got done for jaywalking crossing Bourke Street tramline at about 3am one Friday night.

I met up with him at a house party after and I've never seen him so pissed off.

Was hilarious if it wasn't so stupid.

People suggest upping speed limits - people can't even drive when it is the speed limit, can you imagine if people drove faster?

Yep, the road toll would go back up and TAC premiums would rise.

Plenty of people lose brothers/sisters/friends to marijuana as well (not death). Some would argue that drug laws are there for a good reason as well.

We need another Rum Rebellion to stop the monopolisation of alcohol again. There only seems to be 2 or 3 major players in the sale of alcohol these days.

I live in Adelaide.

Pretty crazy that they've got police waiting for it to happen in Melbourne though. Seems more like a "pick you up if they happen to spot it" type of crime (if you can call it a crime), rather that something they'd stand there and target.

In this day and age when people walk around with earphones in and staring at their mobile I don't have a problem. Person gets hit by a tram or a car when not looking will only end up in some serious injuries. Just like when driving, you need to ask yourself is it worth taking the risk for the sake of saving yourself a few seconds.

Same. Agree on those two. Is it just me or do they care a lot less about speeding too?

Yup...manhattan...they speed like crazy. Toot whenever for whatever reason. It's insane.

The cab driver was going about 130 on the freeway :)

As i found out tonight...pissing on the ground in the middle of the street with everyone around...thats a great thing everyone should do

...at least once in your lifetime. Life's about living and experiences. There are some things you should experience in your lifetime that are not legal. My nomination is going flat out in your car or motorcycle on an open country road, far away from towns. Don't overdo it, just reach your speed and back off.

What else?
I've done that while living in the NT when there were no speed limits.

Drug laws and weed in the same sentence........I'm lost. If you have lost a friend to weed then there is a good chance he was probably a shit friend to begin with. Your comment is against weed but you are open to expanding the alcohol industry. o_O
