Onto the Sinclair thing. The kids done wrong, will go, will come back and probably never do it again. Fair enough, I have no problems with it, it'll happen no doubt again somewhere down the track (a raised elbow) from a Hawk one day, or a Blue, a Roo, a etc etc etc.

Point being I'm not happy he decked one of mine but I'm not going to crucify him over it either.

Agree 100%

I don't think any North Supporter would defend what Sinclair did. He will get 5 weeks (I think thats what Lockett got when he got Caven with pretty much the same incident for pretty much the same result). and so will be back round 4 in 2004.

If someone did that in a Hawthorn guernsey I'd be down at the club wanting him gone. And you people should feel the same way, I'd hope.

What absoloute poo.

If Crawford did that you'd be down there wanting him out of the club would you?? Yeah right mate

What Jess did was stupid, you won't find any arguments there, his season is over.

But let me just say for Dermott to say it's one of the worst things he is seen on a football field makes me ill. Take a look in the mirror and get the photo out of some of the blokes you played with in the 80's mate. They were scum.

i don't know about you guys, but i thought it was definately in self defense...what else was he suppose to do keep his arms down and get hammered himself? There wasn't one bit of premeditation in that or intent, he was simply protecting himself, i can't believe other people are asking for his head. I especially thought it was poor to see vandenberg INTENTIONALLY line up sinclair straight afterwards, i'm with sinkers all the way here, i don't think he should get suspended, if anyone should it would be stevo for bashing holland

Whatever you're on, gimme some cause your on another planet if you really think it was self defense...

Picioane was attempting something we who watch the game call a "shepherd", Sinclair left his feet and threw the elbow. If that isn't "intent" i don't know what is.

As for Vandenberg lining up Sinclair, even if he had connected, it would have been in the RULES of the game, (Sinclair had the ball, no flailing limbs etc.) so i don't know what you are on about there.

Having said all that, Sinclair's apologised, will cop his due punishment and move on. End of story.

Btw I think Hodge is overrated he did naff all last night. Favours his left foot way too much and this makes him an easy player to shutdown, can't play defense either.

yes i realise he jumped up, but you can't tell me you've never done that as a reaction to someone trying to put a ligitimate bump on you...i stand by sinclair/

Fine. Wipe the records of Dermie (Head Stomper) and Lethal (behind the play viscious snipe from behind) from the Hawk archives (any chance?) and I'll start listening to you.

Until then F@rk off back to your own site.

PS "A different era" - you blokes will try anything!!!!

Quite right. And don't forget that prIck Don Scott. I was rapt the day Keenan gave him what he'd been asking for for years. Scott and Matthews got away with murder when they played. Matthews especially was ome of the greatest animals that played the game. And what about "Delicate Des "Dickson the sday he concussed Aylett? He was another anilmal. look no further than your own back yard!

Well I've finally seen this incident tonight (they didn't show it at the game and had to go out today) and from what I've read from all supporters, including ours,I'd assumed Jess must have had a sledge hammer hidden up his jumper and laid in wait for Lance and then kapow! Oh he'll go alright, and for a few, but for recklessness, had nothing to do with "intent" as that implies a level of forethought and deliberate action. Jess' action was instinctive and came about when Lance suddenly appeared on his radar and he went for an unwise measure of self preservation. Apart from the unfortunate injury,in footy terms, this was a lesser action than Fleming's last week as he elbowed a player with the ball and it's reasonable to assume that that was Fleming's intent. Jess will plead guilty and get 3 for a reckless (not intentional!) act.

And what about the day Matthews coathangered Cable in a VIC vs. WA match in Perth - 1974 I think. Matthews was a thug and if he doesn't have a criminal record he should. A great player but an absolute disgrace with some of his behind the play "tactics". If they had more cameras in those days he wouldn't have played 100 games!

One of the reasons I loved Arnie was because he used to love to stand toe-to-toe with that coward.

I really should'nt rise to the bait.. but I'm going to anyway.

That comment is laughable. Many things he was, coward wasn't one of them. As to the rest of it... yea originality a strong suit with you isnt it... As said, there isn't a club in the league that doesnt have something or someone in their past that couldn't be brought up.

17 years, 332 games in an era of 'biffs and brawlers' and you name four incidents.

Make that 5.

He also took out a point post from behind when it wasn't looking or 'expecting reasonable contact!.

The Bruns incident alone denotes a level of cowardice and malice never captured on video before or since.

There'd be one Mgreg that would probably disagree with that.

Btw, were you THERE that day? I was, I actually saw it happen (no replay, no delay) but saw it. Did you happen to see Bruns king hit Tuck earlier in that self-same game? Did you see Bruns running towards a melee in which Jackson was going berserk?

Get off your damn high horse fella. As soon as you can post that your clubs never done a thing wrong then you can take the moral high ground okay. Oh btw.. Sinclair.. remember that a little over 24 hours ago?... So go ahead and start casting stones.
