If we can win 4 from 6 we will be on 22points which looks like it will be enough for 8th spot or at least only 2 points out of 8th spot.

Wouldn't be getting to carried away we rolled an average team last night, fair enough we were well below our best for the first half so to win was a very good effort. But for now I wouldn't be tipping us against anyone of quality until we cut down our mistakes.

our first 4 games were against Top 4/6 sides. All i am saying is that Tigers have a very good run over the next 6 weeks and based on the other teams we are playing, we are a dead set chance to win 4 games.

lovely to have a win, but I think we are a way off beating dogs, freo and swans even. If we can roll Bris might build some confidence, but they are rated pertty poorly too.

The problem with this logic is that, as much as we may get an unexpected win, we are just as likely to get an unexpected loss. Would hope to win two of those six, will be pretty happy if we win three.

I also believe, if we get a hell of a lot of confidence from somewhere, that we are capable of doing better than that. But those things are best left to chance, rather than predict, since it is not the norm.

After that beating the Dogs, Bombers and Swans (away) are huge challenges. Realistically you'd be content to walk away with 1 win from them.

Port then should be a win, so I could see us at:

4 - 1 - 6 by midseason.

Which considering I tipped us for 7-9 wins for the year is about a par score I reckon.

Anything is possible, so you don't rule out anything but that is about as realistic an assessment of the competition at the moment I have seen yet!!!

It is good to see some have learn't to keep things in perspctive but you have probably been doing this all along!!

This current 4 week block of games is a good chance for us to put some points on the leaderboard. With a win already against North we also have 2 very winnable games coming up against Brisbane and Freo (we beat them both last year) so even without getting carried away the original poster is pretty much spot on the money.

I dont think we will finish the season outside the bottom 4 or 6 but a short entry into the top 8 is definitely on the cards in the next few weeks.

Always a chance if we turn up with our best game. You don't bother taking the field unless you think ur in with a possibility.

We could just as easily lose some of those games as win. Even against Brisbane and Port Adelaide, I'd say we'd go in as slight underdogs. Having said that I feel that we can expect to finish up the season in 10 - 13 th place. We wont make the Eight, but nor should we finish bottom four.

My comment was a bit toungue-in-cheek, but hey you never know Santa. If they play with the same intensity week-in/week-out and we keep backing the young blokes....you just never know.

Going to need 12 wins to make the eight, I think 8-10 is more realistic at this stage but anything is possible in footy.

10-11 could be enough this year, if Brisbane and GC only win say 3-4 each and Collingwood and Geelong barely lose, 11 wins and a draw would be a very good chance at getting into finals. Even 10 and a draw would be a chance.

But I don't see where the OP suggests anything about straying from the path of development either.
