Would it be a step in the right direction to have our indigenous jumper be our regular away jumper/ interstate jumper? Or would it be seen as tacky?
Depends which one (this year's one is one of the worse ones we've done recently), but also would have to be predominantly white given that's our away strip.

Pffftttt…
We used to wear black and white stripes, vs North’s blue and white stripes, on black and white TV, In mud heaps.
The difference being black shorts or white shorts.
Now we have HD colour TV and we can’t distinguish the teams?
Utter rubbish.

They wont be happy until each team has a full range of 10 different guerneys with various multinational companies front and back. Here's one for the red devils... or they tell me that they're called that. I have no idea and certainly no idea from this outfit...

I want us to do an indigenous guernsey with Torres Strait artists. They often utilise only black and white in their artwork and seems made for a Collingwood indigenous round guernsey. Check out some of the artwork from the Badu Island Art Centre here for example: https://www.baduartcentre.com.au/our-shop

How good would that look on a guernsey?

This mudcrab would look epic if there was a crab team, lmao. Tasmanian Crabs?

Inter Milan just released a guernsey that I reckon should give us some inspiration for our next indigenous round guernsey. Check it out:

Imagine similar in black and white (perhaps with off whites and charcoals for depth) with either a dot painting or bush medicine leaves painting style. It would look awesome.

I reckon it’s something that our club should consider (confirm players are OK with it, our RAP are OK with it)

That poses an interesting question …

… what is the club’s indigenous program’s relationship with ‘country’?

Is there any focus on Wurundjeri country (the traditional lands that Collingwood is a part of)?

And if so, what is that relationship?

Or is there wider scope?

ie: Would using a Cape York or Barkly artist for our guernsey be considered as incongruous as having a jumper of red and blue?

No thanks. As a one-off here and there, no probs but not a fan of it being a regular jumper.

Are there practical reasons for that, or is it just personal taste?

For me, putting personal taste aside (it would depend on the guernsey), if done correctly it could be seen as a symbol of inclusion for a club that is currently working on repairing its race relations. The club have recent form: they proactively took a position of inclusion with regards to the SSM plebiscite.

How is it indigenous?

It's a good question. I know other clubs have gone wider in scope. Adelaide had a Torres Strait themed guernsey this year for example, I don't think they have direct links to the area. Perhaps a good question to run past the RAP folk and more importantly the peoples whose art is being used. My thoughts are that Collingwood is from Wurundjeri Country but Collingwood fans are from everywhere.

Quicky , FYI, the club does specifically refer to “… Torres Strait Island artwork” with regards to a competition for 2022 and 2023 indigenous guernseys.
