I thought I stuffed up big time when I traded Mumford>Kruezer last week (even though I had the money to get Sandi) especially when Kruezer scored a 50 and Sandi a 100. Hopefully Sandi will miss a few weeks and Kruezer rips it up this week to justify the decision. :)

Had the same dilemma last week but went Mumford to Sandi. He scored 71 more points that Kruez last week so still feeling pretty happy.

But they know what the problem with mummy is, a course of antibiotics should fix him up, if u have held him for this long, might as well wait 1 more week

Yer Im keeping him, esp with Sandi out there isnt really a viable trade option anyway.

Hopefully these "rests" Mummy is getting now means he doesnt need to be rested in the pointy end of the season!

Cmon Giles do what you've been doing and smash out a 100 and fill in for Mummy! :thumbsu:

The Sandi trade doesnt seem as bad now although anyone know how long he is out for?

Lyon is saying one week at this stage, but we'll see.

I have him, but I also have Cox ( who is underperforming but I might as well keep him ) and Giles so i've no reason to worry too much.

I have Giles as back up in ruck so that's not the issue. Problem is that all that cash tied up in a Premium ruck could be in antoher premium midfielder which is costing me lots of points. ****.

That's why I dumped Mummy after the 1st back compaint. Back problems are never simple. However Kreuzer and Ryder haven't exactly set the world on fire for me either, and haven't got the chance to convert the spare cash into a premo yet either.

Its a complicated ruck situation this year!

I think the best ruck combo you could have had from the start was HMAC, Giles (Redden and O) imo.

Which says a lot about the lack of quality in the premo rucks this year. Ryder is literally the only one who hasn't gone backwards or gotten injured, and he was barely a 'premo' anyway.

I'd still rather have started with Sandi, HMac, Giles, Stephenson than Sandi, HMac, Redden, Stephenson though, because it gives you the luxury of having Giles on your bench. Having Giles on my bench has been a great luxury. My ruck division has averaged 89.5 without me having to make a single trade, and I won't have to make one this week either. Sure, HMac hasn't gotten injured yet so the ruck division you listed wouldn't have copped a zero, but with the way the rucks are dropping like flies I'd feel much more secure having three high-scoring rucks, especially considering that McIntosh is returning from a knee reco this year.

I guess it depends what others do with the extra coin by having giles on the field.

I dont think you can argue that having Giles on the pine was the best way to go when he has pumped out 100's

I mean he is avg within 5 points of Dean cox and has had a tougher draw till this point than him.

Trust me, if you started with Shane Mumford on the field like I did then you'd be thrilled to have started Giles on the pine. He certainly didn't stay there for long.

Mumford and Leuenberger were my first choice premos, so if I had gone in with the three rookie strategy I would've had Mumford/Leuenberger (probably Mumford since Leuey and Giles share a bye), Giles, Redden and Stephenson. You can tell how well that would've worked out for me. By now I would've used a trade on Mumford to Sandi last week and would still be copping a zero this week, as well as having to settle for Redden's 48 in Round 2. As it stands I've used no trades and have copped no zeroes.

If somebody had started with Ryder/HMac then they would've been better off going with a three rookie ruck strategy, but I never strongly considered either of those two. If somebody had started Jacobs or McEvoy then the three rookie ruck strategy wouldn't be going too bad, but both have regressed from last year.

So far Sandilands has been a good choice.
His last game was great.
Losing a week or two doesn't worry me with Giles on my bench, I'm just a bit worried that Sandi will end up with a heap of nagging injuries that limit his performance.
Those are the worst kind for DT/SC because you dont always hear about them, but the performance/value can go down significantly.

I guess Hamish would be a good trade about now.

It was an achilles injury and he returned from it last year.

My bad. If somebody misses a year I tend to just assume knee reco.

Either way, I wouldn't want to be putting my trust entirely in a guy who only played one game last year and 3 rookies, two of which probably aren't best 22.

Freo board are still not that sure whether Griffen is under a slight injury cloud (but obviously pulling up better than 211), or whether it was a calculated gamble/insurance policy.

He didn't appear after half-time and was generally quite shit in the first half. Make of it what you will.

Late out and Kepler in maybe?

Griffen did injure his adductor/abductor (it was one of the two) from someone close to the source. Still should be right to play though.
