So that is the result of the scans?http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-24/ankle-sprain-to-put-wingard-out-for-a-few
PORT Adelaide is resigned to being without star midfielder/forward Chad Wingard for up to three games with an ankle injury.
Still no offical news thoughSo that is the result of the scans?
Posted this morning on the club website;
CHAD WINGARD will have scans to assess the damage done to his left ankle
Luckily there is no game this week.According to Nathan Bassett in his presser, Todd Marshall has concussion and is unlikely to play sanfl this week.
Kane spoke to Mitch Cleary on Sportsday SA tonight and said he had the results of the scans (weird) and Chad will miss this week plus the showdown. Could be worse I guess.So that is the result of the scans?

CHAD WINGARD will have scans to assess the damage done to his left ankle
Two weeks in a row now, the coaching/medical staff have taken gambles.
In the Nth game, Ryder obviously pulled up lame after a marking contest in 3rd quarter with the game iced. Staff still pushed him back out on the ground, I stand behind the bench and you could see straight away he wasn't right. He still didn't look 100% in the Melb game, didn't look to be jumping all over Gawn.
Against Melb, blind freddy could see the damage Chad did. The video wasclear, you don't come back from that. Once again (at least this time the game was in the balance), he goes back on the ground to start the 4th, only to be forced off the ground after the first contest.
You will hear "we spoke to player and he was keen to go back out", OK, great. So whats the point of having coaching/medical staff. We just don't know now, we may have a lame Ryder and Chad heading into the finals. Well done.
And now we hear "we will take no risks with Chad", bit late for that.
It can be hard to gauge with injuries like this. As you've said, you're rarely going to get good self reporting from the player themselves who is always going to be keen to go back onto the field if they can. You don't have the ability to scan the injury in real time at the ground. And sometimes swelling won't appear until after the player has cooled down. In the heat of an important game with the result on the line, these are hard judgment calls.
Port Adelaide injury list as of Monday 8 August
Chad Wingard – ankle (assess)
Matthew Broadbent – ankle (1 week)
Bomberclifford - broken heart (season)
