Wow, that's going to make a settled pre-season very tough. How many of those should have been done during the season?

Why hasn't every player already had surgery??????????

Charlie can chug off if he's going to stuff the club around like this - and anyone else too (eg. Wines, etc).

The lads had to finish writing their apology letters to Ken before they could go in. Sort of like primary school when the teacher would hold the whole class back because one kid wouldn't pick up their trash.

Just adding to Ross' post #907 on 9th Oct from club article

Post-season surgery list:

Burton –left knee - had minor knee clean-outs.
Byrne-Jones – right knee - had minor knee clean-outs.
Finlayson – left knee - had minor knee clean-outs.
Lycett – left knee - had minor knee clean-outs.

Hayes – left AC joint repaired - both should be back running by the end of this month.
McCallum – left ankle arthroscopic surgery - both should be back running by the end of this month.

T. Marshall – right hip - Marshall had arthroscopic surgery on his right hip a fortnight ago.
He will be managed through the early stages of pre-season and is expected to join in on full training after Christmas.

McKenzie – right ankle - is likely to ease into running before his expected return for pre-season training in early December.

Does this mean we are keeping Hayes???

In other positive news, both Tom Clurey and Mitch Georgiades are running well after respective long-term back and knee injuries, and

Josh Sinn is progressing well four weeks after his previously reported hamstring surgery.

Players are now on leave and due to return for pre-season training from November 27.

Our injury status according to the Advertiser today.....

Aliir Aliir – Had ear surgery, not related to football, and should be back training late this week or after Christmas.

Tom Clurey – Has returned to match simulation – albeit non-contact – after a back injury ruined his season, prompting off-season surgery.

Mitch Georgiades – After missing the majority of last season due to an anterior cruciate ligament rupture, the high-flying forward is running again.

Lachie Jones – Back running after a hamstring issue over the break.

Kyle Marshall – Club has been cautious with him due to a stiff back and he has been on the bike this past week.

Todd Marshall – Progressing well after hip surgery, doing some running and sitting out of drills. Will be good to go in the new year, but the club may get him into a drill this week.

Tom McCallum – Underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle post-season and was now on light duties, riding the exercise bike last week. Will be fine in the new year.

Trent McKenzie – Easing back into running after having surgery on his right ankle, which proved an issue during the finals.

Connor Rozee – Has been on the bike this week managing a very slight hamstring niggle and is expected to be back in full training on Monday.

Tom Scully – Hyperextended his knee on Friday, causing him to leave training early on crutches, but scans cleared him of any major structural damage. Will be assessed again this week.

Josh Sinn – On the comeback trail from hamstring surgery that ended his season. Felt some fatigue so had been managed and was on the rower at training on Wednesday, but should be good to go for the Power’s camp next week.

Sinn’s fitness remains a concern.

"Felt some fatigue"

Remember how weirdly gushy he was, with the over-the-top effusive praise he had for the club when we drafted him?

We should have seen that as a sign that things weren't going to work out.

He seemed to have as much fanfare around him by the end of his first preseason (including after the 2022 internal trial game), as any draftee I can recall. The main hope I have that he can become something is from a brilliant half he played out of the centre-square in the SANFL round 1 fixture this year against Adelaide. He looked awesome for about 40 minutes of that match.
