If something happens to Aliir or McKenzie, it could happen. They've shown no signs of throwing Finlayson down back, or having Burton be the 2nd tall defender, or playing young players like Pasini or Kyle Marshall.
What do you think will happen for the GWS game? isn't Pasini recovering from an ACL last season.

What about Tom McCallum? I can't see a positional change without adversely impacting the forward line.

If McKenzie is out, maybe Finlayson goes back, and Dixon, Marshall and Lord play forward.

McCallum was all at sea in last week’s final. Pasini no good either.
Early days for McCallum yet, but he has definitely looked like a player who has come from a much lower standard of comp than the sanfl, and Pasini's form has absolutely fallen off a cliff, another season like this one next year and his spot on the list would have to come under real scrutiny.

Hopefully both can improve significantly with another preseason, but regardless of that both are probably only tall enough to be 3rd talls at AFL level.

Back to the present though, if the club through lack of numbers had to select either for a knock out final against GWS I suspect their opponent would have a very big day out.

Port Adelaide key forward Todd Marshall is in “some doubt” for the Power’s do or die semi-final against GWS as the club sweats on the health on a number of star players.
Marshall has been battling a hip complaint, which resulted in him being a late withdrawal for the Power’s final home and away game against Richmond.

Just lean into the disaster I guess.

The Advertiser said:
But in more positive news, Charlie Dixon has resumed running, and will try and train this week in a bid to play.

“Charlie has run four times and he will certainly push to train and he will want to play this week,” Bassett said.

“Charlie is a great competitor and he holds others to great account in the forward line and in the whole team.

“It is always nice to have his presence out there.”

...

Defenders Trent McKenzie and Dylan Williams are the other players booked in for scans on Monday.

McKenzie rolled his ankle, while Williams suffered a hamstring injury.

“Trent, you would like to think he is some sort of a chance this week anyway,” Bassett said.

Fellow key defender Aliir Aliir was only an onlooker at the Power’s light session on Monday after he injured his knee at training last Thursday.

Bassett said he was counting on Aliir facing the Giants.

I'd have subbed Todd the 1st quarter thrown Williams forward and hoped for the best.

If he plays this week they want to make sure he can actually feel his leg.

Our medical people have absolutely turned to s**t this year.

It's amazing because we actually have a very deep list for key forwards but we've just been smashed by injury all year making it look like we're battling in that area.

To think that we could start next year with Dixon, Marshall, Georgiades, Finlayson and Lord competing for probably 3 but maximum 4 spots is crazy.

At least this year's problems have given Lord plenty of opportunities to develop for life post Dixon.
