Congrats Captain!

Boot's got busy during lockdown.

Due date is mid-november.

early out for the 2nd hub and finals series.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Luke Shuey will become a father a second time around announcing his wife Danielle is pregnant.

The West Coast captain shared the news on Hit 9.29 this morning, revealing Danielle was 24 weeks along, and joked that there wasn’t a lot to do during the COVID-19 restrictions.

“We found out at about six or seven weeks, so we she was nearly halfway through by the time we went back to the hub. If you look back at the timing, iso got a bit boring at the start,” Luke said.

“All very exciting.”

Luke said mum was doing well, and enjoying spending time with their first son Oliver because he’s a bit of a “mummy’s boy”.

Surely she'd come along? A bit disappointing if our captain misses finals.

If she is 24 weeks now, she is due mid November.

Can't see a woman 8 months pregnant wanting to live in a resort on the Gold Coast with 50 dudes from the footy club.

I did hear a couple of St Kilda players have babies due over the next couple of months and there are conversations happening of whether the partner will come and (gulp) be happy to give birth in the hub.

Great interview with Roo. I'm a little young to have appreciated him at his peak, but the man was just brilliant. I think he's a tad underrated in some ways and unlucky not to have won a Brownlow, which would have been an amazing achievement as a proper winger but anyone who watched him during the 90s holds him in such high esteem.

Also, Hillydardz and my man Jamie Bennell(!) have made appearances in the Yokayi series which is great to see. I also really like Tony Armstrong, just seems like a decent bloke.

I think a topic of great speculation has been closed out as of today.
Was listening to Coast to Coast podcast, long live the fallen brother Backchat.

Oscar Allen, his words, not mine, has advised the Eagles faithful that he is now 194 cm.

Old news. Was listed as 194cm on the app last year. West Coast web site and app have different heights listed for some reason.

I really enjoyed this too. I tried to find it on YouTube to share, couldn't, then moved on with my day. Worth a watch for anyone who wants to understand what WA footy was like back in 92 when we brought the first cup home. Amazing scenes

'92 was mental. Going over the top after losing the '91 GF cemented the Eagles as the biggest show in town - you must remember the NBL was neck and neck with footy at this point in time with the Wildcats success and BBall featuring on primetime TV.

The electricity around town, even as a youngun', was extremely palpable in the leadup and aftermath.

It was suggested I move this post to this thread. If it's already been posted, will remove?
Anyway, it's a great insight into Oscar Allen, his apprenticeship under JK, forwardcraft, the Freo+Pies game. This guy is absolutely a future leader and clearly a brilliant pick up in more ways then one!

In those formative years I remember having NBA idols as much as footy idols. And collecting NBA cards was a thing around then, too. Admittedly I probably missed a bit of the hype of 92 being only 7, but I was right in the thick of 94. That one is very memorable to me.

Still the best Eagle ever imo

So it's either 192, 194 or 195cm. Nobody's too sure...

And it's not only his rise in form that may be catching opposition off guard, his actual height (listed by the Eagles at 192cm) is helping his ruck craft.

"Thankfully in the last couple of years I've had a bit of a growth spurt so I'm 194cm, 195cm now," Allen said.
