The players who nominated by yesterday's 2pm deadline were: Chase Bower (Norwood, SA), Adam Carter (South Fremantle, WA), Brad Crouch (North Ballarat Rebels, Vic), Dayle Garlett (Swan Districts, WA), Brodie Grundy (Sturt, SA), Matthew Haynes (Northern Knights, Vic), Riley Hutchinson (East Perth, WA), Emmanuel Irra (South Adelaide, SA), Ben Kennedy (Glenelg, SA), Aaron Loccon (Norwood, SA), Sean Lynch (South Fremantle, WA), Todd McKay (South Adelaide, SA), Jaeger O'Meara (Dongara/ Railways, WA), Jonathan O'Rourke (Calder Cannons, Vic), Jason Pongracic (Dandenong Stingrays, Vic), Mason Shaw (South Fremantle, WA), Josh Simpson (North Adelaide, SA), Jake Stringer (Bendigo Pioneers, Vic), Shannon Taylor (Claremont, WA), Jimmy Toumpas (Woodville West Torrens, SA), Nick Vlastuin (Northern Knights, Vic), Matt Wallis (Norwood, SA), Laine Wilkins (Peel Thunder, WA), Daniel Williamson (Norwood, SA), Christopher Yarran (Perth, WA). Thought you guys might like.

Can play hf, mid or hb pretty easily. He doesn't have too many weaknesses, maybe just his height, but has good speed and takes a good grab for his height.

Apparently, It's Carter, not O'Meara that we are interested in.

Here is a quote from the West today:

It is believed West Coast have been closely monitoring Carter. The South Fremantle and Wesley College defender is the brother of Carlton rookie Mitch, and shone in the Alcock Cup last week, booting three goals from half-back.

Makes sense as O'Meara would demand too high a price.

Has anybody seen him play?

We are very much still interested in Jaeger O'Meara he's our first choice.

Hmmm, I've been told that it seems far, far more likely that O'Meara would go to Freo than the Eagles. If that's the case, then chasing Carter would be a very good move.

By this time next year, he would be very highly sought after.

I would be psyched if we picked up a classy mid through the mini-draft. It's the most likely route to finishing off the midfield imo.

This is disappointing tbh. Recruiters have shown they make good decisions but I think we should be focussing our energy on a gun mid.

It would be an amazing effort and put our midfield on par with the likes of Melbourne and Richmond IMO. Mabye even better...

Would probably pass Melbourne's (without Scully), Richmond's and Fremantle's would probably still have us.

Still our gun forward and back lines added to a close to elite midfield would make us a powerhouse.

Interesting, so he's a midfielder not a HB?

Give them Swift or Masten.

He's versatile from the sounds. Played in the champs off the back flank as others have said so the thing that stood out for me was his kicking. Not seen him through the middle so I can't comment on his ability in in close. No questions asked O'Meara is the AFL ready player. Carter is smaller and needs more physical development.

Probably showing my age here but I just had visions of a Bionic Woman / Wonder Woman morphication. (36-22-36)
Wouldn't that be Linda Carter ?????

Look as far as I can see its a moot subject, We wont have a pick or player high enough to secure 1 of the 2 players they will use this year so its all Pointless really.

They will look for the teams with picks 4,6,8,10 eg (Port, GC, Bris, Adel) for an extra top line player in this draft or players from Collingwood, Geelong, Hawks and Carlton for a player swap (eg Pendles, Hawkins, Rioli, Gibbs). If GWS wanted anybody from the Eagles it would be Luke Shuey and NOOOOOOOOOO Way would we give up bootsy for a 2 year prospect.

So as I said Waste of time worrying about it.

In all likelihood only 2 will go this year. I have heard of teams backing off and have heard some teams not even interested. I have heard that the Eagles are and have already spoken to GWS. The groundwork is done.

If we get even one of these four picks we are going to get a good prospect.

Yep, one will do. I'd be very happy with any of the WA boys, really - From Chris Yarran to Gartlett, they all sound the goods.

He's been described a few times as classy as Trent Cotchin, but i can't find any footage.

Is that true? I just love Cotch, he's definitely my favourite player outside the eagles.

And just think... if only we had pick 2 in 2007 instead of 3... which was masten :(

Lets hope whoever we pick up, will be apart of our fourth, fifth and sixth premierships in the not to distant future!

Freo would likely be in front just with the Sheedy/Harvey history from Essendon unless we come up with a deal extra-ordinarily good .

I think the Sheedy is mates with Harvey line is a load of BS. GWS has a list manager and a committee building up their list. Sheedy is a front man and won't be calling the shots on list management decisions as much as people are saying.
