I think the Sheedy is mates with Harvey line is a load of BS. GWS has a list manager and a committee building up their list. Sheedy is a front man and won't be calling the shots on list management decisions as much as people are saying.

You might like to think it`s BS but they go back a long long way . Sheedy will get the final word from whatever the list manager offers him..

I'm fully expecting West Coast to get O'Meara. Word is they are going hard, and are offering up a contracted player that GWS have expressed interest in.

No specifics. But I hear GWS mentioned the names of who they were interested in, and the Eagles are considering one. I believe Shuey was one name, but the Eagles obviously only just signed him to a contract extension. So I highly doubt it will be him.

So GWS may have given us a list of players they were interested in too.

From their 'What would you give for the Jaeger Bomb?' thread.

Chris25 is actually a pretty reliable poster, so it's pretty interesting.

That is just going to make me dissapointed at the end of this year if we dont get him now!

Likely Brown or Stevens would be the player? Sheedy apparently asked the recruiting guys for a "goal to goal line" I dont know if that means a spine?? so FF, CHF, C, CHB, FB?

How would they even approach a player with the option.

Hey Browny how do you feel about playing for WS? we are looking to off load you there for a draft pick.... must be a strange conversation.

Ask Ian Downsbrough about this ;)

Most likely Sheedy won't even be coaching in 2>3 years time, so why would he have the ultimate say on who they draft or trade in, players who will still be there after he's long gone?

I'm not saying his view isn't valued but GWS will get the best deal they can from who ever they can get it from.

Are you suggesting GWS would take a lower offer from Freo because Sheedy and Harvey are mates?

My initial reaction was Masten. You're right MM, it was those three. Scooter I wouldn't give away, and you'd think the club probably wouldn't consider it. The other two are much more likely. Brown seems pretty popular and loyal while Masten from all reports is a bit of a douche. While I don't want to read too much into anything you'd think Masten is the exact sort of bloke we would consider trading and if he doesn't have an ideal attitude (unlike Shuey, Scooter, Ebert etc) he isn't untouchable.

Would consider Masten + Brown, though I like Brown, and draft a KPB.

Masten and Brown would score us the first pick. Brown just re-resigned so
He can be discarded, might I suggest JoJo?

Forgot he re-signed, in which case you'd think it unlikely but not impossible.

While I like Jojo, he is surplus to our needs. Wouldn't be averse to offering him up but you'd think he'd have very low currency.

If masten on his own isnt enough for first or second pick in this mini draft then tbh it's not worth being a part of it.

Don't agree, Masten's trade value would be very low. A top 3 draft pick who has played far below expectation and even still his potential is lower than O'Mearas.

I do get your point but it's unrealistic to think Masten would be even close on his own.

I think at the least it is Masten especially if GWS have signed Palmer.
Masten is not best 22 but has massive potential. If we lost him for a player who couldn't play for a year that would not hurt us. We would have swapped a top 3 pick with a few preseasons for a top 3 pick.

Good player management means knowing what players are looking for in their future and being able to appeal to that, even if you are shafting them on some level!

"Hey Browny, how ya doin?......Browny do you like money?.......I mean do you really like MONEY?....lets have a talk".

Something along those lines? :)

Buy everyone Falafels for lunch then;

"Browny I have noticed you seem to be enjoying that Falafel, I know of a place where there are falafel's as far as the eye can see"

HaHa... love it :thumbsu:

The general perception of Masten doesn't appear too high from bf posters from other clubs i hope that doesn't translate to the educated recruiters from GWS, although i think the majority of eagles fans would love to offload him for an eqivalent pick so i think that says something

Forget about contracts giving away Masten and Brown for o'meara would seem a reasonable deal for both parties involved, and the players.
