The funny thing is all you guys rate Carlton when there just simply not that good. I dont think Essendons any chop atm ether. But I know we have more depth and better Talls coming up. I dont know how Melksham will end up but you see a player like Winderlich becoming better and better. Keep an eye out for our boys, 2 years we will be there. You guys will be still relying on Judd and talking about a name of 3-4 seasons ago.

So keep over analysing Essendons list and comparing yourselves to us if that makes you feel more secure I would feel insecure about my club too if i was a carlton supporter. So go and have your drinks and do what you need to do to make you feel better about your inability to win big games and live up to hype

And that was your choice. That was a monumental stuff up on Essendons behalf, and was a large reason why Adelaide thumped you like they did. Without a ruckman, Adelaide controlled the game from start to finish, by giving their mids first use of the ball.

Bellchambers, a 2nd year player (picked up in the PSD) who may or may not have been carrying a niggle. Not many ruckmen can come in first/second year and make an impact, they're not all Kreuzer.

You can't be serious can you. Lloyd and Ryder didn't play because they had a brain explosion and were suspended, Lucas had retired, and the other two had no impact on the game. But, that's one game. There were times throughout the year that those 5 players were about your best 5 on ground.

Why does it makes a bottom 3, because you;ve beaten us? Ridiculous logic. We earnt our place in the 8 this year, and Carlton will finish about the same again in 2010.

So picking up Williams is more secure? A 27 year old with chronic knee probs, I can;t understand why Knights did this instead of hanging on to a proven champion like Lloyd? The whole getting rid of the older players thing is bizarre, it certainly smacks of some division between knights and the players, and it has divided the EFC members as well...far too much huff and puff at Essendon at the moment...setting themselves up for a massive fall, which is a bottom 4 berth.

They also beat definate premiership material Carlton, 5x and havent yet lost? I rate your midfield sure, but you underrate the stoppage ability of Jobe Watson. You clearly havent been able to smash our midfield, or stop our run off the CHB.

Further to my point, you clearly dont have more talented KPP's than Essendon and the only thing you can do is point out the injury concerns of Gumbleton he will be a powerhouse by round 15 next year. Neagles weight? Some blokes are built big id hate to see one of your little Carlton players get in the way of him. Hes got all the skills but yes i agree getting his fitness there.

Neagle + Gumbleton exciting prospects

Not to mention servicable youngesters still finding there feet (Carlise just draft, Danahier looks decent, Micheal Still has a lot of talent)

Perhaps Ryder shouldn't have been so stupid, and put himself in that situation where he could have been suspended. Either way, Essendon made a late change to the side, and through they'd be better suited trying to out run the Crows. Talk about a major backfire.

It's the media's fault. They have it in for Carlton. Every team has drunks apparently, but Carlton get picked on.

The issue is the Dons draft choices and player development has been quite poor. In hindsight their superdraft was a complete disaster. Sheeds used the draft as a PR exercise and just picked the players talked up the most in the HUN. By contrast, the Blues ignored the tabloids, and relied on professional assessment. I remember after that draft everyone was praising the Dons choices over the Blues choices based on the media attention Sheeds choices got in the tabloids. Well a few years on, and 4 out of 5 of the Blues choices from that draft have been unquestionable successes. Not bad. Same deal happening this year - HUN attacking the Blues for not taking a B-grade tall over a A-grade midfielder. When will these tabloid jokers learn?

It is not unusual for Lance & his fellow ferals to visit our board, try & stir things up & then when they get payback, with interest, go back onto their own board, have a bit of a whinge & then complain about the big, bad, nasty Mods on our board.

It used to be generally agreed back in the '70s & '80s that Essendon had more female supporters than other clubs. Nothing I see from their supporters on BF has done anything to dispel this conception (& this is not a dig at you, or females overall, Aph, just an observation about Essendon supporters).
