Is it time to ditch the NAB series?

Yes extend the season and the list. NAB cup is not worth it, we saw what Carlton did. We basically thumbed our noses at the NAB cub and if they play the senior players at Bunbury that will be the ultimate insult.

I dont think that we thumbed our noses at the NAB cup. I dont think that it is take the same by Ratts as it was by Pagan. Ratts see's it rightly as a final tune up to get to the start of the season while finding out what some of our rookies and new recruits are like in match conditions.

Pagan saw the pre-season cups as a way of putting trophies on the shelf so he could justify to the club and the supports why he was still there, then start trotting out the old cliches when players started breaking down within the first few weeks of the home and away season.

In the past there was too much of an emphasis on winning and success before Pratt and the rest took over. Now there is an emphasis on doing well and building up a very strong team that will last us for 10 years.

This isnt a knock at Pagan, just the way that he treated the pre-season cups.

I like the way that Carlton has gone in the cup... a very inexperienced squad stood up to Geelong and almost stole the limelight from them.

The match in Bunbury is going to be a low key affair and you will possibly see the experienced guys who missed last week playing about 1/2 to 2/3 of the match and the rest of the time spent sitting on the bench taking it easy.

Actually I don't disagree with anyone on here. Just just for the sake of arguing. Maybe the AFL should consider an extended season, with bigger list for the clubs. But then again it would also be good to have a shorter season.
