recently in chat a certain someone told me that my nickname was offensive, so the question im posing is that i ewant to know whether you find my name offensive

You are named after Gary Ablett (aren't you). Maybe put an Avatar of Geelong or Gary Ablett might clear up any offense.

As for 'God', grow up little one. The comment/criticism was that it was how you have been using your nickname. You have in no way represented it as 'God= Ablett'.

You how however on many occasions, represented yourself as 'God' in a religious sense, especially in Chat.

A persons religion is not something they are required to wear on their sleeve in the same fashion the Jews were made to do with the yellow stars during WWII.

These days there is no obligation on a person to publicise their faith or religious beliefs. With that in mind, it is more than a little insensitive, and more than arguably offensive for you to assume the role in a printed manner of "god" by joining in relgious debates and telling people that you are the 'god' they worship and the 'god' who created the world and the 'god' who created man, and the 'god' who knows everything' etc etc etc.

As much as you find it 'fun', others find it insensitive.

I don't have a problem with you naming yourself God - and neither should anyone. The fact that you name yourself after the alleged creator of the Universe should not be offensive to anybody. After all, every religion has a "God" of some sort, and your name doesn't spedify which religion so you are simply a generic God.

How is that offensive? The simple answer is that it's not.

God,.................... whilst not personally threatening, I understand how your nom de plume can range from challenging, to outright blasphemy for those of some kind of religious persuasion.

The question is all about the perceptions of others, they are the ones feeling insulted, I guess what it comes down to, is why did you pick the name "god" in the first place?

My guess is you picked it because you knew it would upset some, and hence cause some type of controversy, when exactly that happens you cry innocent, and attempt to harness some kind of poster sympathy, especially from those of no faith, of which I am one.

Because in my opinion, you acted with intent, and malice aforethought, you get no sympathy from me, and if I were judge, jury and executioner, I would ban your name
