If he was still at Hawthorn - Gun of the highest order...

There were a lot of Hawk supporters that didn't rate him even while he wore brown & gold. We never questioned his courage and felt sorry for him when he played the part of a punching bag. I think he gave a good effort most weeks but his skills weren't up to snuff. He was not a good player at Hawthorn but he wasn't a top-notch hack either. He deserved to be cut loose at end of last season.

It's nothing against you or any other Hawk fans apart from Nightwolf who seems to think every Hawthorn player is a "Gun of the highest order".

Yep, everyone in our team, including Doug Scott > Sampi...

This very topic has seen me banned from the NM Boards, for some reason im not allowed to tell the truth about a player on our list.

Sh1t and always will be, although i hope he does come good as it is only an advantage to us, although there is not much chance of that as we all know. Looks as if Laidley will be the third coach to find this out.

You got banned because you're a cockhead, not because you hate Romance Lance.

LOL You should buy yourself a tissue box mate, for when this sh1t c@nt is delisted at the end of the season.
I think you truley struggle to fathem the concwept of discussion. Also the reason why Dean Laidley and co drafted Lance Piciaone onto our list. He is not there to gather 30 possessions per game, nor is he expected to kick goals. He was picked up in the PSD to provide a stepping stone in the midfield for David Trotter, Jesse Smith and Blake Grima. He was recruited to allow Shannon Grant and Brent Harvey to push forward (By the way they've kicked 61 goals between them this season).

Picaone was dropped back after the emergence of Michael Firrito and his outstanding form, along with introducing David Trotter and Jesse Smith into the 22. As to be expected. But as the season pans out these young players in Smith and Trotter began to tire, unable to really impact at senior level, we require Piciaone in the side again coming into September, and certainly in Round 22.

He provides blocking, clearance work and clean hands around the stoppages which enables our running players in Daniel Wells, Brent Harvey and Shannon Grant to clear the congestion with the football. Sure you don't see his influence on surface level and sure you don't give him 3 brownlow votes for his efforts, but he was an important player early in the season and that coincided with our solid form.

Those who voted that he is not a good player, fair enough, he is no star. But those that voted 'F@cking Pathetic' to quote our new 'member' Helmie, well you obviously haven't seen how he contributed early in the season. The reason the thread was shut down Helmie is because you lacked sensible discussion and resorted to 'F@cking Pathetic' attempts to attack other posters and players. Pretty weak stuff really.

Lance will provide in small portions, a stepping stone, certainly not a future of the club. But referring to Lance Picaone as a 'Sh1t c@nt' is pretty lame.

Well done my friend a coherently constructed piece of prose, but you are merely making excuses.

Well done to Picioane however. Instead of Boomer and Grant kicking 55 goals last year together this year they were able to kick 61. Well done there young fella. Whilst in the first five rounds that you so oftenly talk about, last year the pair kicked 15 compared to this year 13. I owuld call that a slight decline.

Whilst yesterday i actually felt sorry for this Picioane. He looked lost among the midfield whilst his first few possessions were inefective. I swear to you right in front of me (on the wing, after he came off the bench) he was running in circles, he just had no idea. But, hey if running around in circles helps wells and the likes then he should stay in side i suppose.

Whilst he did very little blocking yesterday, and i numerous occasions he scoured the pack to try and get a cheap kick. He didnt make any space at all, his confidence is so low that instead of doing the job, that you say the coaching panel want him to, instead he went kick chasing.

Please note that no where in any of my arguments did i mention that players need to get 30 touches to have a game. I respect the hard, in and under players that are actually of use and those backmens that dont necessarily get any possesions whilst they limit there opponent to less then 2 goals.

And if you were to actually read the posts mate, you would have relised that i wasnt the first one to resort to '********ing pathetic' attempts of attacking other posters. These 'other posters' felt the truth was too harsh.

But, of course on his performance yesterday he should be given another game. He showed so much, made alot of space and was able to be that hard nut in there. Dont get me wrong i dont wish 'bad luck" on him, its better for the team if he does improve, whilst at the moment he is no benefit for team as he fails to actually do anything.

As you would have seen yesterday we dont need anymore 'hardness' with Firrito, Harris, Archer, Urch (what a bump on Teague), Pratt to name a few.

Ohh and thanks for calling me lame, ill take this on board mate and try and improve my posts from here on forward.

Here, here! :D

Fill in player while players like Trotter Urch and co find their feet. Unless he has a dramatic turn around expect him delisted at the end of next year

You make fair points, I just fele you go about it in a far too aggressive manner. The guy is an obvious stepping stone for our younger midfield brigade. And the development of Firrito has meant Piciaone has spent long periods of time in the VFL.

I agree the guy is a fringe player, but he is important to the side until Smith, Trotter, Grima and Urch find their feet.
