So he thinks Adelaide are just going to tank in 2007 to snare his son? He has to be kidding.

Alas, poor Crow-mo.Crow-mo said:stop upsetting Toots with all this nasty, reality hocus pocus.
Toots Hibbert said:No afc9798 made the claim that Ross Gibbs does not presume to speak for his son and is not trying to influence which club he goes to. I'm simply quoting Ross Gibbs doing exactly that.![]()
I've found you to be a sensible person too, and I'm pretty confident that this is another one of your tongue in cheek rants. A pretty good one too with the hand on heart approach done very convincingly.afc9798 said:Just because he expresses his opinions....
Toots you are a disappointment as despite your hyperbole and over the top attitude at times, I at least thought you had a skerrick of intelligence and reality....apparently not.![]()

Dont YOU HATE getting thrashed by Glenelg you sad Port feral.Toots Hibbert said:Moved heaven and earth to ensure his son could be selected by the Crows under the father/son rule. Failed in this. Now there are reports that he has said Bryce is no certainty to nominate for the draft this year.
Does this guy have too much influence over the career of his son?
Toots Hibbert said:Alas, poor Crow-mo.The argument for the negative has moved from "No he didn't!" to "Well why shouldn't he?"

A couple of points:- I don't think any sensible person would say I was waiting in the background in this thread.Crow-mo said:waiting in the background huh toots,
how unlike you.![]()
care to explain - how the argument "is he the equivalent to damir dokic" can move from "no he didn't" to "well he shouldn't" . really, I'd be interested.
which obviously I wouldn't, but every now and then it's funny to watch you convince yourself you've not made a *** of yourself.
Funny you should say that! Ross Gibbs did some pretty bizarre things on the football field. Certainly a talented player but seriously, some of what he did was more than a little Damir Dokic-like.Ruddiger said:Does he drive a truck and hate sausages?
Obviously not. If Bryce did stand out of the draft it could only be because he genuinely (in conjunction with his father) felt it was best to wait another year. Which would be a very interesting decision - maybe the right one, maybe not, but certainly interesting.DynamoUltra said:So he thinks Adelaide are just going to tank in 2007 to snare his son? Aren't you the author of the dumbest and most embarrasing thread of the year?Toots Hibbert said:Oh look we could be in danger of straying off topic.
Toots Hibbert said:OK afc9798 since you insist here are a couple of examples of Damir Dokic-like behaviour by Ross Gibbs. You didn't really think I'd come unprepared did you!:-
He once attempted to do the full monty on the football field. While playing full forward for Victor Harbour after his SANFL days were over he attempted to take a shot for goal in the nude. Having taken his jumper off and while taking off his shorts he was challenged by the umpire who awarded a free kick against him when he refused to stop.
He had a reputation for having tickets on himself while playing in the SANFL. This characteristic came to the fore while playing for Victor Harbour. An example was the day he was running into an open goal, placed the ball on the ground and back heeled it through.
Having been a good footballer in one of the top three competitions in the land, Gibbs had a wonderful time playing in the sticks against teams like Port Elliott who would go for years without winning a game. His showboating made him an object of hate amongst opposition supporters who would follow him from end to end at the beginning of each quarter in order to hurl abuse. He once took a bite out of an apple that had been thrown at him then hurled it back at the woman who had thrown it.
