In such a short period of time, the moral of both players and supporters has risen through the roof? Not only is our line-up un-noticable, but honestly, so are most of our supporters. Four months ago it seemed our forums consisted out how shit our team is, how much of a girl Houla is, how fat Lance is, and due to some excellent direction from our lord, Big Dick, this board is starting to look like the way it should be. I don't think this website has even existed for any of our major acheivements, and well, I havn't really been around to enjoy our clubs acheivements due to the whole age thing, so hopefully the future is a time for changes and firsts, for me at least. Kudos to all the Carlton Board posters, we've been through a lot. This may be alike the other 200 "Next Year" threads, but god damn it we have a right to be excited! Carlton's franchise kickstarts next year, the first bounce in Round 1. We are Carlton, F*** the Rest! CARN YOU BAGGERS!

Nothing has changed from my point of view. For the past 2-3 years I have been supremely confident that we are on the path to a multi-flag success era at Carlton. As we get closer, the momentum will build and more and more want to be part of it. The last few years of low ladder finishes, were just a temporary blip, nothing more. We don't hope for flags at Carlton, we view them as our right. Our rightful powerhouse status on and off the field will be restored shortly. :)

So true Eddie, previously pre-seasons I've been pretty excited about the next year but nothing close to this.

It might not happen straight away but we're back baby!!!!

GO THE MIGHTY BAGGERS!!!!! :thumbsu:

Not to burst your bubble here parrot, but 3 years finishing 16, 16 and 15 would seem more of a blip to me. Still, we are on the right track.

What's the morale of the story?

Hmm, excuse me for not checking my grammer after each sentace, but last time I checked, this is the Carlton board, and i'll spell any word any way I bloody want, got that ya Bitchmond supporter?

I remember feeling the exact same way earlier this year.
We had won 5 in a row after the pre-season and then the Tiges.

I went to the Dome vs Cats.

Commentators were tipping US. I was optimistic................WHAM (no not George Michael...........more like a Batman punch.........Hmmm that is a bit like George.......oh anyway)

we got pumped and back down to earth I came.

Next week we had our biggest ever comeback vs Dons..............thank goodness, the Cats game was just a blip........her we go boys..........2 from 3 and on the way..................Wham............WCE - 10 goals.

I have been this optimistic before..........I have been let down before.

I will wait until:
  1. Judd is fit and firing
  2. Stevo is fit and firing
  3. One of our young rucks steps up, probably Aisake
  4. One of our young defenders steps up, Jammo or Aussie
  5. Carrots, Fisher, Simmo and Waite show last year was the rule rather than the exception
Once I have ticked these boxes, regardless of wins/losses.......I will look forward with a smile.

Till then I won't indulge in dreams.........it hurts too much when you wake up.:(

As Bon Jovi says in one of his hits - "Keep the Faith"

I'm keeping a lid on it until all this optimism translates into on-field wins. The last time we had a reasonable year was when I first registered on this site - the following couple of years were particularly gritty because there were very few of us Blues supporters on here, and only a few of us to fly the flag. Our board was down the table in terms of posts, threads and activity. :o

It would be great to see a period of success with all the supporters we have here at the moment - as such successes in the past were enjoyed by only a handful, which meant a lot of people didn't have the opportunity to gloat on BF heh. ;)

Quite simply, it has been one of the single most important years in the long history of our great club. From disarray and even whispers of relocation in February to on a wave of momentum by October. New President, new Board, new CEO, new Coach etc., etc. A record membership shows the Blue Army has stirred. A frustrating year on-field but a crucial and defining year off it. Now the arrival of Judd!

I have no doubt that all the pieces are in place and - although it may take another year or two of growth for our kids - the CFC is ready to explode back to it's rightful place as a power in the comp. 2008 CAN'T WAIT!!:D:thumbsu:

I am feeling very optimistic about the Blues at the moment, but then again I feel like that pretty much every offseason. Still, you can't help feeling like a new era is about to begin. Our off field management is sorted, our youngsters are getting better and better and the great Juddy has arrived! How long until round 1? :)
