... that Richmond bag us for taking Ottens (who was dare I say it, potentially their best player along with Richo). But now, how the tables have turned, to replace the gapping hole that Otto left in their forward line - they pick up a forward who couldn't get a game for us.

Eat a fat one Richmond!

haha, difference is we got kent for free and you guys gave us two first rounders for NOTtens - and you also had to pay him a truck load and signed him for years, and we only have to deal with ol kent road for one season and are paying him peanuts and cashews. also, tell me a year were brad kicked over 40goals - and i show you at least 3 years were kent did.

Ba Bawm!!:p

We gave up ONE first rounder for Ottens and a player we'd picked up for not much IIRC.

The difference between Ottens and Kingsley is that Kingsley will not win you a flag, and he'll do jack********** in finals. An Ottens in form, however, is something that Kingsley will never be: a matchwinner.

Enjoy all the dropped overhead marks and cheap goals.

Sorry to say, can't argue with that! :(

Are you an indication of what goes on over at the Richmond board?

Kent kicked all of those goals with us in his prime...how does that make the joke on us?

How do you even begin to compare Ottens and Kent as players...they are nothing alike.

Why do you think you are paying Kent peanuts and cashews?...when you answer that question honestly go find a mirror and look for the idiot...ok?

your recall wongly my dear - two early picks for ottens - kent has been a hell of alot more of a match winner than ottens in his career, statistics prove that. ottens doesnt get close(!) to have kicking anywhere the amount of goals of Kent - I dont think kent is gonna be a superstar from any stretch of the imagination - but you fellas suggesting this situation is ironic - well i just dont see that! u got Otto to be your number one forward target, traded as much for him, paid him as much for it and he has provided zilch - where we got kent as a 3rd - 4th option forward, playing either as a decoy for richo, brown or schulz - and paid nothing but near minimal salary for him?? the only thing ironic their is you guys got ripped off badly for something similar to what you gave us for free:eek:

you cant, kent has proven toi be alot more of a goal scoring forward than ottens -

we are paying him that because he is probably worth that, as 3rd-4th target forwards who are not going to develop any further are not very valuable.

maybe you explain to me then why you are paying Brad ottens somewhere over 300K per season to provide the nothing he has and does each week, and then have a look yourself in the mirror for the idiot

ouch:thumbsd:

So you are expecting Kent to kick 40-50 goals as the 3rd or fourth forward option at Richmond are you? Thats just dumb.

How many ruck taps do you see Kent averaging in 2007? Will Kent be dividing his time 50/50 up forward and in another position like the Ruck? The only thing Kent will be dividing his time with will be the bench or the reserves. As the third option tall at Richmond he certainly wont be a match winner for you at any stage...

You dont know his game very well....you are just reading stats and not understanding what they actually mean about his game.

I was pleased with Ottens in 2006 he had a reasonable season and 2005 he had a handful of good games and kicked close to 20 goals. When we drafted him Bomber said to everyone we didnt get him to be a match winner...he is there as a forward and a ruckman....

Kingsley had a shocking season in the seniors this year and you are the only club that wanted him....hello?

:) OTTENS...yep...great finals record. None of his appearances seem to stand out!!

BOO HOO HOO. sounds like some pussy cats sucking on a lemon. deal with it. you've gotten nothing out of ottens-and we'll see with kingsley. i bet kingsley stays at richmond longer than bomber after this season. meeooow. (or should that be roar).

For the 45,000th time - get over it - he walked - he left you. It's years now and you still can't cope.

I'm believe we got Ottens for very little - regardless of what Richmond supporters think. The draft picks they got haven't set the world on fire. I checked, between them last year they played 23 games and Ottens got through 22. And Moloney (and I feel sorry for him) spent the year injured and still appears to be struggling.

Did anyone hear Carrot interviewed on SEN just after 4pm ?
He said he wants to be the 4th or 5th forward at Bitchmond.Surely the 4th or 5th forward at any club [i.e Chappy & Jr at Geelong] has to be able to play on the ball or in defence.Carrot can't do either.

Richmond are seeking WorkSafe as a new sponsor. With Richo and KK in the forward line together,it's going to be a dangerous workplace for other footballers.

;)

Some people have nothing better to do then act like shmens. Richmond supporters included.

It's too hard to see who got the better deal out the the ottens trade, but either way both sides are happy. Geelong got their man and Richmond got some early picks, and a replacement in Simmonds.

Richmond got picks 16 (Pattison) and pick 12 (Meyer traded for Moloney), and perhaps after their 3rd season some conclusions can be made.

First balanced post I've read. Everyone expected Ottens after 2001 to become a superstar, and because he's become a good player and not a great one he gets bagged mercilessly. Had a very solid 2006 at Geelong, played every game and kicked about 26 goals (I think). Plus was clearly our best ruckman. Kingsley played 8 games (as a full forward) and kicked 10 goals. That's pathetic.

Kingsley may work for you - if so great and good luck.

I really find it funny how Richmond supporters act as if Ottens wasn't good enough for Richmond!

They're like a moth to a flame aren't they? :D

As for Otto, def get over it already!! Every club goes through stuff like this. I won't even begin to describe my personal heartbreak when Colbert up and left us. (It involved me violently removing the no.2 from my GFC jumper ;) )

Anyway, good luck with Richmonds plan of having not one but two bozos on their forward line. :thumbsu:

Well said, as usual, Partridge.

I think if Richmond get 30 goals or so from Kent they would be stoked...

Ottens is an awesome player...if he played up forward more permanently he would be a super player for us...can kick some crunch goals! im more than happy with what we gave up for him...

u got Otto to be your number one forward target, traded as much for him, paid him as much for it and he has provided zilch

false. ottens stats stack up pretty well when compared to a similar style of player, let's say Simmonds.

Ottens ahead in important stats like contesterd marks/posessions, tackles, 1%ers. Don't know why he cops so much flak...oh, yes i do. he left richmond :thumbsu:

Kingsly and Ottens have both been sh1t players in recent year. So far its fair to say we have got ripped off with the Ottens deal.
I cant see Kingsly doing much for Richmond besides maybe playing CHF helping and supporting the younger blokes but also Richo. Kinglsy doesnt have to do much anyway all he has to do kick goals and take a odd good mark.
