Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

So SA U18 win the National championship. We therefore have the best depth of SA talent since 1995, and yet we have no first or second round picks. Brilliant.
That alone is reason to wipe out our management.
And don't try the 'how would they know about the depth of SA talent coming through' argument. This same group won the U16 National title.

But Steven is going to work really really hard.......

Ill be honest, I am more concerned about Chapman than Trigg. Trigg took one for the team and personally I think its time we moved on. Chapman has been absolutely pathetic since this situation arose. Talked the talk but did absolutely fu@#$&g nothing.
Way behind but agree with this (I would still like trigg gone) but half the problem is the accountability if we had a new chairman trigg would be more accountable into the future something no one can be confident of now due to the situation.

you can do the same for every draft. it's purely a lottery if the guy we "should" have drafted turns out to be a gun - ie yes theres a pretty good chance he'll turn out great, but theres also a pretty good chance they'll be a dud
Still catching up the issue is how many first round picks have we stuffed up since having rendell/ogliville in charge? 0.

Other than sacking Trigg (which I agree should have happened), what could Chapman have done after the truth came out last year?

I supposed he could have just never said he would "tell the full story later", but really, it's not like he could have gotten us off or made any real difference to our penalties or anything.

No, the argument is very fair. Losing first round picks in 2012 and 2013 doesn't really affect our premiership aspirations in 2014 and 2015. Other than the likes of Joel Selwood and Harry Taylor, very few players come in and have a real impact in their first couple of years on a premiership side, regardless of how good they are. And those that do are generally the more mature-aged role players who are usually taken with late picks anyway.

It is the window beyond that, in 2016 and beyond, where the effects of the draft pick penalties will begin to be felt. That's when the players we would have selected will be actually hitting their straps and making a positive influence on somebody else's team rather than ours. And that hurts bigtime.

I'm not happy that Trigg is back, not in the slightest. But given that he is back, and that it seems nothing we do or say has an influence on that decision (though kicking and screaming now may give the club cause to consider fan opinion more seriously for future decision, so it's not pointless), I'm just hoping the club can make the best of it - and that this kind of awful incident never occurs again.
We would have more options at the trade table this year and last. Also not to mention the possible negative effect on players mindsets when they hear we are hoping to trade back in to parity at the draft table.

Spot on.

I am just itching for the Crows constitution to be re-written, where Members get to vote Board Members in or out. That'll put an end to the bullsh*t we're forced to endure.

I laughed out loud. I didn't roll on the floor, but BAM counter-argument shot down in a pool of blood on the floor, the paramedics are putting a sheet over it.

I caught a little of Rooch on 5AA this AM banging on how club management need to be accountable & heads should roll - at Essendon, over the drugs scandal ... which I agree with ... but why is he not applying the same argument for the Crows' management - in fact has done the opposite with all the positive Triggy is back publicity this week in the 'Tiser? Because most of the SA media are too close to the Crows to write unbiased opinions.

No the issue is by not sacking trigg for such a major stud up there is no way we can be confident of trig being held accountable into the future something a new chairman could bring.

Now if Rowie is correct, the AFL have come out and said 3 decisions which costs to Crows goals were wrong - which has a simiar stink about it to what happened against Hawthorn.

So Triggy, you want some respect from your supporter base, make a ****ing point of it, every other club at one stage or another has - time to join the party.

assuming he wants to of course.

Is that true? I'd be surprised if they did admit that in a game that was decided by a goal. Even so, I hope they don't use that as an excuse for the loss, should have won even with the dodgy calls.

Do we reckon Triggy got around to watching the game this week?

The Crows must hold the record for the AFL apologising over the umpiring decisions in the last year ... but if they are not fixing the problem, we will just continue to get screwed. Time to ban certain umpires from officiating in Crows games (or preferably sack them).

Be surprised then.

They reviewed 4 dubious decisions - all against the Crows - which all gave West Coast goals.

1 was regarded as 50:50 but the AFL admitted that 3 of them were wrong.

There was the Laird throw (it was a handball), Porplyzia holding the ball (Priddis scooping it into Porps chest and holding it there) and McGinnity's around the neck (massive acting by throwing his head back and not touched anywhere near his neck).

That is 4 games we have lost by narrow margins where the AFL have come out and admitted that the umpires got crucial decisions against us wrong (or not paid).

Personally I have had a fkg gutsful of those cheating bastards that masquerade as allegedly impartial umpires. Why are they prepared to guess incorrectly on such crucial decisions and ignore absolutely blatant frees in our favour?? If you can stand it, watch the replay and you won't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times the commentators call obvious frees to us that the maggots were happy to ignore.

Reverse the results of those 4 games and we're hovering around the top 4 instead of season over. Apologies from the AFL just don't cut it - our season is ruined and the sorries can't fix that.
