Any thoughts on this young player. Lovely kick with football smarts. Great character. Fits our recruiting criteria. Essendon have been trying to keep interest on him down.

Kicked 3 goals and was one of Vic metros best in a losing side.

Anybody have more thoughts?

If essendon have been trying to keep interest down than he will end up at essendon going by the shady way they got Kavanagh to disrespect other recruiting staff, Heppell's groins, Bomber thompson leaving the cats, and the way they played up the caddy issue. Absolutely disgusting behaviour by them since they knifed Knights.

Karma will catch up. It always does......

Absolutely dirty on them speculating on Heppell's injury. Hope they die in hell. Also Kavanagh.. jesus christ, he's a showoff and thinks he's the best. He should be lucky he got drafted with that attitude from his family and himself

Heppell is soft and Kavanagh as much as everyone raved about him on here (I know I got caught up in it), is apparently nothing special. As much as the Bombers play up to their fans that they got bargains, they didn't. Heppell's injury didn't make him slide (his lack of speed did). Kavanagh's dad/attitude didn't make him slide. He's a twig with poor skills.

We need to stop caring about these things. Conca will be a jet in a couple of years and Ellis is already playing seniors.

I'm not saying i want them just that Essendon has fast become my most despised club by the underhanded way they have approached everything in the last 3 years. Reminds me of why i hate Carlton and as much as i dislike Collingwood i dont think they would be this underhanded so i have respect for them.

I dont understand this view. They have been ruthless and have let nothing get in their way of what they want.

If we did this, I dont think our supporters would be dirty on our club.

More credit to them I say and their results speak for themselves.

I would be a bit dirty if we acted this way. That's never the way i've played sports, its fine to be ruthless but you still have to play within the spirit of the game.

The getting in potential draftees ears and dodgy medicals, not to mention playing up the death(or was it illness) of a family member to get a good deal for a young kid is outside the spirit of the game and i hope Karma comes back and bites them. Same as Carlton and Judd's Visy deal (He went from my favourite non tiger to my most loathed). Just like claiming a catch in the slips when you know its bounced.

I should add its why GWS is actually one of my most hated teams too. They used those mini draft picks completely in the opposite way they were intended and made a joke of the entire system. Especially trying to trade it back to themselves

Fair enough mate, but the reality is we only know what the media tells us.

I personally am happy for the Tigers to stomp on everyone on our way to the top and if that meant manipulating rules to within an inch of breaking them then so be it.

I couldnt care less who we hurt along the way as long we look after our own.

I'd be dirty, but i'd probably celebrate a flag just as hard:D

A couple of Rioli's were amongst the best in that game.. ah the memories of 82, 83.

The point I was making is that they haven't done anything dodgy apart from maybe the Caddy thing. The media have blown it out of proportion. All clubs knew Heppell was perfectly fine injury wise he was just a bit slow and outside, hence he lasted until 8. Kavanagh is a poor/below average kick hence he slipped. Dons play it up to their fans like they've pulled the best swifty of all time and they all lap it up.

Who is Jack Billings? Isn't this what this thread is about, not the doings of other clubs?

Well said. I posted the question and none of our learned colleagues who know everything about the National Draft have added any useful info.

Jack is a kid flying under the radar who has great ability. He played for Vic metro on the weekend against NT, kicked 3 goals and was one of metro's best.

Well if he was in Metro's best, you can be assured he isn't 'flying under the radar' anymore. He will be lit up and be on everyones 'follow closely' for the draft. Why is he being discussed now, and on a Tiger forum? Is he related?

Tall/ small? Fast/slow? Fat/ thin? Gutless/ courageous? Good/ bad kick?

No idea who he is, but I'd like at least to be able to picture him

Sorry. Just realized he was only 16. Gifted midfielder with a beautiful left foot.

One to watch next year. Sorry guys, thought he was 17. My bad!

What the hell's iffy about Kavanagh?

He missed the year with hammie issues. Clubs saw that as a risk.
Aaaand right on cue he's missed the first 4-5 weeks this year with hammie issues.
Accurately assessed risk is accurately assessed.

Yeah, he's been back for 4-5? weeks as far as I know.
He is quality - finds the ball inside, knows what he *should* be doing with his body, creative.
But he is very, very light.
He looks like he'll be a good player, but he's a few years away yet.
