not 100% sure what im going to do yet, but i doubt ill watch any footy this weekend, not even on monday.

but the rugby is looking very good at AAMI park on friday night, i can assure you of that

So, what would happen if Viney's jaw was broken and not Lynch's? Would he be at the tribunal?

In my opinion, Lynch contributes to his own injury by keeping his head down in the hope that he'll draw some head high contact and get a free kick.

**** the AFL. They are castrating this game.

Once upon a time I would easily have classed Aussie Rules as the best game in the world. Now I only watch it because I love my team. Gone are the days where I'd watch footy every day of the weekend. I couldn't honestly care less.

Not sure thats exactly what lynch was doing... I didnt want viney to be rubbed out. Its just a footy collision. Viney had the chance to protect himself at the last second and lynch got hurt. Call was play on and was the right call.
The mrp suspended him when they shouldnt have... Then for the next twist they dont even stick to their own grading criteria. Its a joke

Lets spare a thought for the real victims in all of this - Norh fans.

No longer can they cry and claim Ziebell's suspension was the worst in tribunals history.

Equal first is still first, just like equally bad is still bad.

Should have got 4-5 weeks. We can't allow dog acts like that in our great game. Great job MRP!

The tribunal is independent of the AFL & is made up of ex-players!

In my opinion they have done an excellent job this year thus far & gotten most decisions correct, including & most especially this one. Despite all the media hype to the contrary....Which is the only thing that is hysterical in this case!

Once again, Viney had the alternative to tackle & didn't. Any one who argues that he didn't is deluded!

how the hell could he tackle without opening up his rib cage and chest to damage from the impact... Id like to see you tackle someone front on while he is being tackled by someone else both running almost full pace.. Even your boy lewis couldn't believe it.

Would love to see Melb fans boycott Sat nights game and just sit outside the 'G with protest banners

We finally win a game and now we have to boycott ....

Im going to the game but I want to do something , Not sure what

He couldn't tackle. He could but he could have been knocked out for weeks if not life.

Viney had to lower his shoulder but didn't!

Except both had their head down & were shoulder to shoulder at the contested ball.....Hodge went harder & was found to have no case to answer....Hardly comparable!

Pretty hard to be shoulder to shoulder when you shoulder someone to the head. That would be shoulder to head. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't for one second want Hodge to have gone for that, but this is the point ... hitting someone in the head in a contest shouldn't be an automatic suspension.

I can't fathom the logic of Jeff Gleeson saying Viney should have spun out of the way. This is not the game I fell in love with when players are being told to literally jump out of the way to avoid incidental contact with another player on the off chance they might get hurt. It all happened in a second and Viney simply braced for contact that was coming his way. It's not like he barrelled into the bloke. I hope to buggery he appeals this.

Once again, hardly comparable....Both had their heads down & were shoulder to shoulder competing for the ball....The Adelaide bloke had the ball!

So what? Hodge still chose to bump and Murphy copped a broken jaw. If you choose to bump you take responsibility for any injuries that occur. He didn't have to turn into the contest he had other options. He could have run at the contest with his body front on so as not to bump Murphy, he could have waited for Murphy to take possession and then tackle him etc

*NB clearly I don't agree with this but this is how the AFL are saying it would need to be adjudicated.

Cant flim-flam the tex-man.

But seriously, wasn't he calling for Viney to get 4 weeks just the other day?

Nah I think he was saying how long Lynch might miss

Broken jaw to me = 4-6 weeks on the side lines.. Be interesting week ahead.

If Viney is culpable for Lynch's injury - what about that to Georgiou? Or does duty of care only extend to opponents?

Apparently so.

But it won't be long before a player gets rubbed out for injuring a teammate, just watch, it'll happen.
