What's King's position on gambling, use of recreational drugs and infidelity?
not hypocritcial
Well people will have views on Hird but I don't think it's comparable to Toby Mitchell's "work".

no- Toby did what he did due to limited options in life- this is not making excuses- simply explaining why many people brought up in the cycle intergenerational crime/poverty do what they do.

james was given everything a kid could wish for- and lived the dream life- brought up in a life of intergenerational success and comfort.

One had no expectations.

One had a world of expectations.

both have cut corners and worked on the fringes of legality.

one had everything to lose.

one had nothing to lose.

Put in perspective, I would say Toby Mitchell is a better bloke than James Hird

If you are not going to associate with anyone who has been questioned or charged over an offence and only associated with those in rotary you are going to have a very lonely life.
I'm tipping you are just being a hypocrite and taking the opportunity to put yourself on a pedestal for the purpose of perceived clean skin and of coarse Bigfooty ' likes '.
Some of the most genuine people you will ever met have a checkered past .
Racism , homophobio , gender inequality are all resultant of people being judged based on generalistion and perception.

What tosh. Perhaps you'd like us to soft step this a little more and refer to Mitchell as a "colourful identity". He deals drugs, he is the leader of a gang that commits crimes. This isn't a "checkered past". It's a checkered present.

You sir, are a dead set moron.
Oh that's so mean and unfair why do you feel the need to insult me? Why do you have to call me names? Why do you have to put yourself on a pedestal and snub your nose at me? Does it make you feel more superior? Does it make you feel like a bigger man?.or is it because you sit behind a computer you feel you can say whatever you like to who ever you like? ..you truly are a wonderfull human being congrats for being so great

I'm sure old mate would rather here the story of the private school kid who had rich parents and got a scholarship to a private school for footy, he then was drafted immediately and never had any problems because things always worked for him
Player x's advice is don't bother worrying about anything because it will always fall into place for you and you don't need to ever fight and scrap because that's for those poor people we don't care about

At least he went to school.

Thought I was reading an intro to a Current Affair story.

What a load of rubbish. He did not have limited options. He chose not to explore those options with any meaningful insight. Just take take take.

I am continually amazed at all these bikies who are no longer affiliated with these clubs yet haven't been given their goodbye flogging or bikes and patches taken from them and still associate with those who are still members.

To buy into this is to be an apologist for criminals. And not all criminals are violent thugs. I think you give Mitchell far too much understanding for what he has done. There are stories of people who lifted themselves out of lives just as down and dirty as Mitchell's and become social-workers, charity raisers, priests, lawyers, politicians, anything really... If you think Mitchell had no other choices you are essentially saying it became baked into his DNA due to his upbringing. There are others in the same situation who turn out very different.

As an aside: I wonder if Jake King is actually afraid of what would happen if he cut Mitchell off. There is usually an implied threat for anyone who is friends with somebody highly violent.

No blinkers no blinkers at all. I see things as they truly are. If i can't consider myself perfect in every way then what ****ing right do I have to cast aspersions on others perfections or imperfections

very true.. I recall watching this story about a group of bikes' that would deliver sandwiches to kids in schools.. and people were all like 'awww how sweet are they.... don't judge a book by it's cover' and I thought to myself so if these people manufacture and distribute drugs that ruin lives does it make it better that they make a 'couple sangas'?

The point I am trying to make is just because someone does something nice doesn't make them a nice person.. a person could be a pedophile and/or rapist but they can also care for the elderly and donate their time to local communities ect..
