Traded Jake Stringer [traded to Essendon]

...there will be SFA work done by Mofra for most of today, and many offices around the country will be working at half capacity.

I'm planning to do about 2.5 hours work today from 2:30-5pm. Headphones will go on and monster mode will come out as I push a days work in to a late afternoon.

Yeah it is, and there are quite a few rumblings about Schache coming to the dogs despite all the 'we're not interested" talk.

Either way between that and a Bottom 50 write up to get to there will be SFA work done by Mofra for most of today, and many offices around the country will be working at half capacity.
I'm told that Carlton are working to get Stringer now that the Gibbs deal is finalised.

A few rumours on our board that we will be helping get the deal done for Essendon.

My guess is we will get pick 16 from Adelaide as part of the Gibbs deal and on-trade that for 25 & 30.
Essendon then use 16 to get Stringer and Dogs have their 'first rounder' they wanted.

We then trade 30 to GWS for Kennedy (Cameron has already said they'll accept pick 30 or under).
yeah, i was thinking something like:

Carl in: 19, Lang, Kennedy
Carl out: Gibbs

Ess in: Stringer
Ess out: 25, 30

Dogs in: 16
Dogs out: Stringer

Ade in: Gibbs
Ade out: Cameron, 19

Bris in: Cameron
Bris out: 19

Sequence
Ade sends Cameron to Brisbane for 19
Ade sends 16 and 19 to Carlton for Gibbs (maybe something comes back)
Carl sends 16 to Ess for 25 and 30. Use them on Land and Kennedy
Ess sends 16 to WB for Stringer

Stringer is a contracted player. Would involve him advising his club that he is happy to go to the Blues. Can't see him going from a Premiership team to a Carlton without Gibbs who would be considered well for the spoon. This vs going to a resurgent Bombers who have bolstered their list with a few good players.

Fox Sports reporting that Stringer had two 'fall back' options if a deal with Essendon can't be reached.

I'm sure Geelong is one, Carlton could quite possibly be the other especially if the reports of the Gibbs deal being finalized is true.

Stringer met with SOS a week after this whole saga became public. Connors has said there is a backup plan if a deal can't be reached with Essendon (which I think is Geelong actually) so there are plans in place already for Stringer to end up somewhere other than Essendon.

I'd wager it being Geelong seeing as they are hesitant to trade that pick for Gaz

In a four team race for Jake i can see it being in the order of Footscray - Essendon - Geelong - Carlton.

I still think there is a strong chance that he will still be wearing number 9 at the kennel next season but there is also a strong chance that he wont.

Strong rumor also being reported in News Limited that Carlton's #16 involved in deal for Stringer. So either 25 + 30 for 16 and the Bombers get Stringer. Or straight swap of #16 for Stringer and he ends up a Blue.

I'd wager it on Geelong as well. They're a stronger team with much more potential for success, at least in the short term.

And Geelong always had the currency to get a deal done if was necessary, whereas Carlton are only landing on a pick now with Gibbs. You could argue the Gibbs trade to Adelaide was always in the works, thus a pick coming back to the Blues to do the deal, but surely that would have been a few steps removed from this deal some weeks ago.

Yeah I think this will happen as it just makes perfect sense for all involved.

Everybody wins

I think there's no doubt that 16 for Stringer is fair trade, as you've said.... only question is whether it's Blues or Bombers. With the Blues eyeing off two other players in Kennedy and Lang you'd think they want 25+30 before 16. That said, with the Blues moving a 29 year old Gibbs on (likely because he won't be there after yet another rebuild) you'd think a 23 year old Stringer would be very, very welcome.

wrong thread but how do you get Lang? 25 or have you got later picks?

So Gibbs is worth 10 first round picks, however, Stringer isn't?

Not saying we will get 2 first rounders but wow weee

We'll probably be asking Carlton for pick 10 if they want Stringer.

What do you get from the cats, 19?
Probably - at this stage it seems Schache could well be the end game according to our board so we just need a way to satisfy Brisbane.

If you traded him in 15 you'd get Lever picks

Little has not got a private jet. Your post sucks like all your previous ones.
say that again??

In an aviation development that is sure to set the cat amongst the high-flying pigeons, former Toll Logistics boss Paul Little has taken possession of a brand-spanking new Gulf Stream 650.

Unless you're a plane nerd, the significance of the sentence above could well be lost on you. The plane is the gold standard of executive jets, not least because its "extended range" capabilities mean it's proud owner can now buzz direct from Melbourne to LA in just over 15 hours.
