You honesty think Peter Gordon wouldn't be able to rip apart a strawman argument from Paul Connors? The AFL is a pond compared to the stuff Gordon has been involved with. What does bullying in the workplace look like?

It would be pretty easy to mount a case that the bolded points above have occurred to Jake from bulldogs management over the past 6 weeks. Hence jakes reluctance to return to the bulldogs.

What is not workplace bullying
Some practices in the workplace may not seem fair but are not bullying.

Your employer is allowed to transfer, demote, discipline, counsel, retrench or sack you (as long as they are acting reasonably).


Telling a player you are trading him, “to put a rocket up him” and then not actually trading him, does not fit in the examples listed above. And it is without a doubt workplace bullying.

The hours and money Jake has had to invest looking for a new club not to mention the stress and uncertainty about his future he has gone through are unjustifiable if the bulldogs were never serious about trading him.

If they at any stage told stringer point blank that they were trading him (which judging from the immediate fallout out from stringers exit interview is precisely what they did), well then they simply must trade him, because if not then they have undoubtedly been playing mind games and psychologically harassing stringer, and he would have no trouble in proving that their conduct has been unreasonable.

Are you actually being serious? This would have to be the stupidest post I've read on Bigfooty and that's saying something.

Less likely - stringer will seek last minute trade elsewhere.
Even less likely - remains at dogs. They don’t want it.

If Stringer didn't have problems, a 23 year old AA star would be worth 2xtop 10 picks. JOM with dodgy knees was worth a top 10 and a 2nd rounder, then even with off field issues Stringer is worth a top 10 pick.
Pick 25 and 30 isn't equal to pick 10, regardless of what the points system or pro Essendon media say. Dogs should tell Conners to start talking to the Saints cause if he doesn't want to get back in the kennel, I reckon the Saints would pull the trigger on pick 8.

I might be one of only a few Essendon supporters, but I do feel sorry for Bulldogs. Such a crap situation to be in. We were in the exact same situation 3 years ago with the same player agent. The longer they wait, the worse it gets. When family members and mental health start getting involved, that's the cue to just cut the losses and do with what you have before your reputation takes a hit.

We won't offer more than 25 and 30 for Stringer or 25 and GWS 2018 2nd rounder (and nor should we). Either is a very fair offer. Pick 10 on points. Gut feel is that the Doggies will take it on Thursday. If they don't, all the best to Stringer.

I'm just as happy with the Dons taking the picks to the draft.
