Traded Jake Stringer [traded to Essendon]

So is Stringer threatening to sit out of footy? Probably just tough talk but Connors seems intent of getting him out. Although the dogs also intent on getting him out it'd seem.

It would be interesting to see whether the Dogs would have to continue to pay him (full or part) if he sits out. Interesting case where you say you don't want someone and then refuse to trade them. Messy.

I don't understand the ego from Bomber fans...
They've accomplished **** all over the last 10 yrs except a 200 pt final loss this season.
Now they're floating about picking up a B+ grade mid sized fwd who they're expecting to save their midfield, a C grade back flanker who lacks skill and decision making ?? But to top it off, they're almost about to **** up bringing in an A Grade AA premiership player who no doubt will up their chance of winning a flag, due to incompetence and their supporters are cheering it on.

It is ******* hilarious. Keep it up Bomber fans, it continues the joke you've been for the last decade.
Great post.

I hope you look back and reflect on it after you club accepts unders, remembering pick 11 was turned down.

The blunder where we refused to give Stringer and P26 away for P11? i love those kinds of not getting screwed 'blunders'.

Anyway who reported that and what was the source - Connors or Dodoro?

Connors and Dodoro are pissing off the wrong guy in Gordon. Those two are plodders when compared to Gordo. And yeah he'll be involved. Why wouldn't you involve him when you have one of the best hardball negotiators in the country.

Poor bastards won't know what hit them dealing with a guy who got compo for asbestos and thalidomide victims. A mere footy trade is a piece of piss.

I almost pity Connors and Dodoro.

Almost.
That is some of the most delusional ramblings I have ever read.

I thought Dodo wanted to change the image of him being shit to deal with, yet again it's a lowball offer and dragging it out till 2pm Thursday. If Stringer didn't have problems, a 23 year old AA star would be worth 2xtop 10 picks. JOM with dodgy knees was worth a top 10 and a 2nd rounder, then even with off field issues Stringer is worth a top 10 pick.
Pick 25 and 30 isn't equal to pick 10, regardless of what the points system or pro Essendon media say. Dogs should tell Conners to start talking to the Saints cause if he doesn't want to get back in the kennel, I reckon the Saints would pull the trigger on pick 8.
"If Stringer didn't have problems"
Well he does. So his value is diminished.

Jake's going to America huh?

Maybe clarko might turn up in his hotel lobby?

Bombers fans better not get too comfortable yet, very open to getting dodo'd here by a number of clubs.

Jake's only nominated essendon because they are the only ones to have actually offered him a contract..for now.

If the doggies had half a brain they'd be ignoring essendon and calling every other vic club
Maybe they did that and there are no takers. Looks like only Essendon and maybe Geelong are willing to take him on.

Connors on TR this morning sounding like he is going down the grubby path. He smashed the Dogs early on. One thing that annoys me is this whole we offered pick 11 BS but he fails to mention we wanted 26 back. I just don’t like the way he goes about it

Not quite. We offered pick 11 with a second and third round pick swap. Dodoro did verbalise the deal this morning.
Dogs wanted pick 11. Apparently they only want to use 2 picks in the draft. They knew other clubs were after pick 11. They had their chance and blew it.

It seems people are happy to use the points when it suits them. Pick 11 and 47 less 26 is only worth X.
Well pick 25 and 30 is worth pick 10 - what they wanted.

So Paul Connors says there is no going back for Jake. Did not want to leave but forced to. Now watch Bulldogs media fan boys release an article Jake wants to go back to the Dogs. Lol.
Dogs media fan boys heavily outnumbered by Essendon media fan boys and the clueless parasites i.e McClure , Denham , Ralph

Relevance? We got 2 second rounders in return.
Exactly. So it was a good deal for you.

The bloke I quoted posted we knocked back pick 11. As with the Smith trade, it wasn't just pick 11, it was pick 11 with something going back the other way - pick 26. That wasn't a good deal (according to the Bulldogs) and it certainly wasn't as simple as 'knocking back pick 11'.

What do you prefer

Pick 11 + 47 for Stringer and 26
Or
Pick 25 + 30 for Stringer

Agreed. I actually can't work out if 11 for Stringer and 26 is better than 25 and 30 for Stringer tbh. I guess people are having a bit of fun with it considering pick 11 would have been much handier for you guys/

There’s no such thing as “what you got back in return”. We only rejected pick 11 remember?...there’s been no comment about what we needed to give back in return.

as above

Because not getting what we were expecting for a player we didn't want anymore is comparable to a drug saga which disgraced your club's name and brought the game into disrepute.
Comprehension not your strong point? Merely stated you've completely mishandled it as we did. Wouldn't have thought it was hard to understand. Not comparing saga. Just the handling.

I'm not denying there were other picks involved, but 11 in the hand is the significant piece.

A piece that is gone now. Value of later picks drops significantly, so the trade that lands you a first rounder was far more valuable.

i havent followed this too closely but from what i can gather Stringer wants to go to the Dons, the Dons want Stringer, the Dogs dont want Stringer and nobody else wants him either.

the deal will get done and he'll go for unders based on talent and about the right price based on application.

That's very hard to answer. I think it depends on what we can turn 25 + 30 into, as I don't believe we need 4 live picks (unless we lose all of Honeychurch, Campbell and Crameri, of which I think we'll lose 1-2 only).

I hate using the points system to evaluate picks not involved in F-S or academy bidding, but option 1 was a net of Stringer for 916 points (equiv pick 20) and option 2 was Stringer for 1385 points (equiv. pick 11).

Unless we can use picks 25 + 30 for a good trade target or turn them into a first rounder, I personally would have preferred the first deal, but I have absolutely no idea what the club is planning so my uneducated opinion isn't worth anything.
