“There is no need for the Bundesliga to be shy. From a football perspective, it’s just as good as the Premier League. We have superb stadiums filled with passionate fans, the average attendance is much higher, we play great football and we have first-class academies.

I don't think anyone has ever argued against that? German football is great to watch but purely in terms on revenue you have 3 German clubs in the top 20

Compared to England

  1. Man United
  2. Man City
  3. Arsenal
  4. Chelsea
  5. Liverpool
  6. Tottenham
  7. Newcastle
  8. Everton
  9. West Ham

English clubs can bully any others financially for talent except for the very very top clubs in each league and that's the major difference.

Supposedly if he played one more game he'd have earned an improved contract and a fee might have gone City's way. Given how owners in the NE like to run clubs on shoestrings, wouldn't surprise me! :p

Didn't know there was that sort of clause, but surely they would be better paying it than taking a negative 25mil pound plus hit that comes with relegation. Not that I care if that happens :p

When it comes to Sunderland (and other north east clubs like us), conventional wisdom usually doesn't apply. :D
