Josh Drummond is apparently well thought of. I think David McKay would be a good acquisition if he wanted to return to SA. Very nice fella as well.

Well its a case of you can't have the cake and eat it too. The really sounds assistant coaches would always want to go into the pathway of becoming senior coaches. So whilst I wouldn't hire a full suite of budding senior coaches, having one amongst the ranks is a risk worth taking.

When port was at its best back in the early 2000’s man6 assistants moved on to be senior assistants’s and coaches. You get the best and if they go on to better things then I only ever see that as a positive. Hence what has been such an issue over the last decade as coaches like Cornes stayed far too long as wouldn’t get a job elsewhere in the AFL.

A heap of callers had his name at the front of the cue had Carlton sacked Voss.

Extremely positive opinion of him from a lot of other coaches apparently.

Would Hayden want to come back to Adelaide? I can only imagine he would want to come home if he has decided that he isn't going to get a head coaching position in Melbourne and there was a compelling family reason to come home. I don't see it happening at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised if he saw himself in the frame if Essendon or Adelaide needed a new head coach for whatever reason.

You can never truly tell with assistants. There's very little in depth media coverage about them, and so fans are left to make educated guesses about them based on very limited information.

What I do know about this individual is that they're highly rated at their current club, they're highly thought of by the head coach of the club he's currently at, and Carr's wanted him for a long time with a specific role in mind.

I would be happy if it goes ahead.

This is the old what if they get too good and they leave vs what if they dont get good and they stay.

Ill take 1 year of eliteness over 10 years of mediocrity any day of the week.

This is a problem you should want having. That’s why you should act as if you were still on the market. When it happens, you are ready to hire a new guy.
