Jeff White has been a champion ruckman for Melbourne for a long time. He's only 31, isn't injury riddled (to my limited knowledge) and will likely be more or less free in the PSD. If his attitude is right we could do worse but it would signify a shift in our thinking. We don't really want to do a St Kilda and forget that its recruiting kids that got us in a position to play finals for a number of years ahead.

Absolutely - the assumption must be that he is CHEAP.

There is no way we should be trading our good picks for him.

We got Ackland cheap.

Sometimes cheap still isn't worth it.

White's time may be past.

I'd even look at Lade over White. LAde has at least played some footy this year........but again, the commitment he would have to playing for us would have to be questioned.

Brogan is the best name I have seen thrown up. Big, physical, likes hurting people..........I think he would still have a few years and be motivated to think he could win a flag with us.

These others would be less likely to think they would be a part of our next flag, so for mine, the motivation just couldn't be there.

Nah, way past it.

Let's invest games and time into the youngsters that will be with us wen we're ready to have a serious shot at a flag

there are a few ruckman that are gone this year or are holding on for dear life

White
Brogan
Everitt
Gardiner
Bryan
Ackland
Lade
Street
Laycock

Of that list give me Peter Street. Was in great form as the dogs number 1 ruck for most of last year and simply hasn't had a look in this year. Yes he's just turned 28 but, at 211 cms, is a giant who will get his hand to ball first on most occasions. Is also reasonably agile for a tree!

Really think he'd be a great asset to support our emerging rucks for a couple of years. Given their current performances imagine what our midfield could do next year with a few taps that are actually to advantage. :thumbsu:

Would be the goods in our clash guernsey.

Not your best work my forest-dwelling friend.

Hopefully Swanny sticks thick to his word and we never need suffer that white strip of pelican sh!te jumper again anyway.

The clash jumper is like Matty Lloyd. Try as I might I just can't hate it. Am I okay thinking like this? Confused, Victoria.

How the hell could you possibly want Street, He is shite. Seriously hes the worst disposal i've ever seen and from what i recall previously he is not agile whatsoever. The only reason he got games last year was cos the dogs didnt have any else over 6 feet tall to challenge for the ruck spot lol.

Geez Brogan would probably top that list, or either of your "great rivals" rucks mentioned there. But honestly Street is around the worst in my books.

Much more interested in his ability to feed the disposal of Judd, Stevens, Murphy and Gibbs than him possibly fluffing the odd handball.

I don't think Peter Street would be the worst acquisition. He's 211cm, he will get first hands on the ball most times and will feed the midfielders. Worth a punt if he's OOC and we can get him via the PSD for peanuts, other wise, not really worth it in my opinion.

What are peoples thoughts on Mark Seaby?

What are peoples thoughts on Mark Seaby?

I put this up last year when he resigned. Was howled down at the time IIRC.

As it has stacked up this year, he has played one good game, and they continue to play Cox, despite his injury, ahead of Seaby, even though there is nothing to play for.

Makes you wonder where he is at.

I think we are looking for someone who is competant, a mature body that can fill the void until Kreuzer and Hampson develop, and won't cost us anything.

Seaby will cost us a little, Warnock a little more still.

Lade or Brogan might go cheap. It all comes down to whether they are willing to work hard, or if they are coming across for a pension........we aren't Essendon.;)

Brogan sounds like he is playing hard ball on a new deal with Port as reported in todays Herald Sun. Im guessing he is asking for decent money and/or a long term contract. I dont think going on 30 he is worth either.
