The enemies of democracy are stopping it.

And the party that ramped on about unelected people having a say on UK affairs, called on the Queen to suspend Parliament to stop any continued discussion by parliament on BREXIT.

THE Queen has been urged to suspend Parliament until after Brexit in order to prevent the UK’s exit from the European Union being delayed or cancelled.

Yes you do get another vote regardless of the polls. Every 4 years. Its called elections. The polls for a referendum are overwhelming and it will be a landslide to remain. The enemies of democracy are stopping it.

Enemies of democracy. Humour. Zero chance it would be a landslide. Remain only up 4% in latest Comres

NB its 5 years in the UK not 4 years

Footage has emerged of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn slamming the “empire” of the European Union and its habit of re-running public referendums until it gets its way.

The recording unearthed by The Red Roar, a hard-left blog, shows Corbyn encouraging “No” campaigners at a peace conference ahead of Ireland’s second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty in 2009.

“If you succeed in getting a ‘No’ vote here, that will be such a boost to people like us, all over Europe, that do not want to live in a European empire of the 21st century,” Corbyn implored Irish eurosceptics as they campaigned, ultimately without success, to defeat Lisbon a second time.

Hardly a great secret that Corbyn hates the EU. Its only the vapid little momentum / student uni clique that is only just working it out.

https://www.theguardian.com/politic...s-out-labours-terms-for-backing-may-on-brexit

Jeremy Corbyn has written to the prime minister, offering to throw Labour’s support behind her Brexit deal if she makes five legally binding commitments – including joining a customs union.

He says the changes to the political declaration must include:

  • A “permanent and comprehensive UK-wide customs union”, including a say in future trade deals.
  • Close alignment with the single market, underpinned by “shared institutions”.
  • “Dynamic alignment on rights and protections”, so that UK standards do not fall behind those of the EU.
  • Clear commitments on future UK participation in EU agencies and funding programmes.
  • Unambiguous agreements on future security arrangements, such as use of the European arrest warrant.

So the people get to vote again and change their mind. Got it.

After the original vote to join the EU, polling showed leave enjoyed a very big leave over remain. Did people get to vote again then? If remain had won would another referendum have been held two years later?

Yep, his performance "supporting" the remain campaign made it bloody clear he was always a brexit advocate

Come on. You can’t think that this mess was what the British public had in mind when voting?

They’ve been lied to and they’ve worked it out.

When they voted they expected that the government would have the capacity and desire to work out a good deal and that the EU would negotiate in good faith.

Just because the EU isn't bending over backwards to help out the UK doesn't mean they are negotiating in bad faith. The UK seems to think it can have favourable trade and travel conditions for itself while imposing whatever conditions it wants on the EU. That's the lie that was sold to the British people, this scenario was always going to play out pretty much as it is. The EU is within its rights to look after its members.

EU are negotiating in bad faith because they won't facilitate their UK policy of "have our cake and eat it too"

How dare they look after the interests of the people in the EU and not the English!!!

Its very very simple. No Customs union, no single market, no ECJ. No deal gives that.

Lied to? Sure they were, remember Treasury promised an immediate recession, large drop in house prices etc.

Thats piffle and you know it. The EU doesnt negotiate in good faith. Jusk ask the Greeks and all those countries told to have a second referendum because the first one didnt get the right result.

"Imposing conditions"? Like what?

Have you actually followed this at all?

I was thinking the lies on the side of buses with total flops standing in front of them pretending they knew what they were talking about.

ah so one "lie" vs an avalanche of lies. Pick and choose much eh.

https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2017/...exit-bus-was-wrong-the-real-figure-is-higher/

Only today do we have the data, published by the Office for National Statistics. Its figures show…
  • Payment to Brussels, net of rebate and money returned to the UK: £9.4 billion a year, or £181 million a week.
  • Payment to Brussels, net of rebate: £13.9 billion a year, or £267 million a week.
  • Gross payment to Brussels: £18.9 billion a year, or £363 million a week.

You think that pair of dickheads told only one lie?

You think that pair of dickheads told only one lie?

Their other alleged lies included - the EU wanting its own army - turns out that was true

https://www.politico.eu/article/angela-merkel-emmanuel-macron-eu-army-to-complement-nato/

That the economy would survive a leave vote just fine - that turned out to be true.

That Turkey joining the EU being a security risk - well given ISIS I hardly think thats a lie.

Immigration wouldnt fall. Well that was rubbish

blah blah blah.

Seven MPs leave Labour Party in protest at Jeremy Corbyn's leadership
Seven MPs have resigned from the Labour Party in protest at Jeremy Corbyn's approach to Brexit and anti-Semitism.

They are: Chuka Umunna, Luciana Berger, Chris Leslie, Angela Smith, Mike Gapes, Gavin Shuker and Ann Coffey.

Ms Berger said Labour had become institutionally anti-Semitic and she was "embarrassed and ashamed" to stay.

Mr Corbyn said he was "disappointed" the MPs had felt unable to continue working for the policies that "inspired millions" at the 2017 election.

The MPs are not launching a new political party - they will sit in Parliament as the Independent group.

But Chuka Umunna said they had "taken the first step" and urged other Labour MPs - and members of other parties - to join them in "building a new politics".

"Politics is broken, it doesn't have to be this way. Let's change it," he said at a launch event in central London.

He said there would be "no merger" with the Liberal Democrats and the group wanted to "build a new alternative".

Chris Leslie said the seven would have its first formal meeting "in a few days" time to "assign roles and responsibilities".

The group rejected comparisons with the SDP - which broke away from the Labour Party in the early 1980s but eventually merged with the Liberal Party - saying it was a different era and they would not be contesting by-elections.

'Painful but necessary decision'
Each of the seven took turns to explain their personal reasons for quitting the party.

Ms Berger said: "This morning we have all now resigned from the Labour Party. This has been a very difficult, painful, but necessary decision.

"We represent different parts of the country, we are of different backgrounds, we were born of different generations, but we all share the same values.

"From today, we will all sit in Parliament as a new independent group of MPs."

Anti-Semitism was a beat up by those angry Prime Minister Jeremy Corbyn won't give Israel a free pass and a shield for MPs who will be deselected for not accepting the left wing reality of the party.

Corbyn is a useless dick though

He deliberately undermined the brexit vote, even though Labor wanted to support Remain. He has failed to galvanize a clear and viable alternative govt other than "I'm not May". And the anti semite stuff MIGHT be overplayed, but it keeps coming up from stupid stuff that he keeps doing or saying on this.

I'm rapt the seven have walked, and hope more follow soon.

I'd love them and the moderates in the torys to unite and pull this s**t back from the brink, but that's as likely as me hooking up with Scarlett Johansson
