Not sure that surf choice will get us over the line. The vicco surf coast has quality waves with arguably less crowds than margies.
I'm assuming he refers to family - personally, I'm not sure why an early 20's footballer really worries about being next door to ma and pa....

Did you move away in your 20's? Not to a different suburb, but state or country?

The vic surf coast is insanely crowded because it's tiny. And it's freezing cold literally 365 days a year. And it's at least 1 & 1/2 hours out of Melbourne before you get close to the good coast

Each to their own, my folks were in the country, I moved to Freo in my early 20's and a phone call every now and then was enough for me.
Now I have kids I appreciate family a lot more, in my 20's the focus was footy, skirt, booze and surfing - in no particular order !

Agree it's cold, very cold - but no way is it more crowded from a surf perspective... Torquay area yes, but not the greater surf coast area

Nah. There are dozens of good breaks down Margs way. If the break you're at is crowded you ain't looking hard enough. And plenty of spots North as well. I'd take our coast here in the West over what they have on the East coast any day.

With the new Indian Ocean drive opening up to the north of Perth it has made it far easier for Perth surfers to access some fun beach breaks only 1 & 1/2 hrs away.

With the money JH would be on he could buy himself an incredible boat to allow comfortable access to the quality reef breaks which surround Rottnest Is.Rotto is a winter wave haven with year round 20 degree water temps.

Now being reported on the radio over here that Hogan was here to discuss the Dockers offer or $15mil over 10 years. Lazy lazy journalism. That was a figure Jono Brown threw up as to what he thought it would take to get Hogan over here.

Lazy journalism is par for course in WA. Occasionally hits Victoria too, on a side note I like how the media reports McCarthy signed a contract extension in 2015, when it was actually April 2014.

As much as I'd love that to be true, Jesse's denied that...just went for a surf with his bro

Starting to rethink the whole Hogan saga if he wants to play for us great if he doesnt no harm looking at Richmond with two great key position players Rance and Reiwoldt and they are sunk. Maybe we should be working hard at getting Omeara or Swallow to complement Fyfe and Bennell 3 A grade mids can really change games.

Am I the only one not actually opposed to that 15 mil 10 season deal? The only way I'd be completely opposed is if it made us lose out on keeping our younger talent. What have we offered Cloke, Franklin, Riewoldt, M.Clarke and the other 50 players we tried to get here in terms of deals?

Nah, I would do it....the slay cap will rise over that period and the games elite will probably receive 2mill per year.

Nah totally we should go for something like this. Hogan is the kind of talent that only comes around so often. He is available in 2018 and we should be going hard at him.

O'Meara is probably cooked unfortunately but Swallow is a very very classy midfielder who would slot into our team easily. Alot of injuries lately but he is a WA boy who was keen to stay in WA if possible.

My daughter moved to Melb a year ago age 20. She's coping perfectly well without the kind of support network around her that you'd get in a footy club. My other daughter would lose it without mum nearby, and my son, who's almost 20 still relies on both ma and pa quite significantly and I don't think would be comfortable being that far away from home.

My point is - each person is different, so one person's reaction means nothing in the context of how another person will react. Look at Cam McCarthy.

If its quality surf he wants...rotto is only twenty minutes away if you have a fast boat. I recon 15 mill will be enough to buy that boat. Strickos, radars, bullets, keyhole bommie, and stark bay are all a grade.
