Joel Selwood or Marc Murphy?

Murphy has been excellent this year, but he has a year of development on Selwood. Will wait until next year to judge I reckon

Just like I'd trade Murphy for Selwood. Can only hope/dream Geelong crashes and burns and Selwood comes to WCE to play with his brothers.

Selly rejected millions of dollars from both GC and GWS so he could stay here, as did Jimmy Bartel. Then he said that he wants to work through the next eras of the Geelong Footy Club, and signed a 3 year contract.

If anyone, he'll be the one piecing our club back together if that happened.

I wouldn't mind having Scooter Selwood on our side, he's a gun imo.

Probably a bit of a harsh time to judge Selwood given that he has only just returned from a lengthy suspension. Murphy has definitely had the better year but overall Selwood has the runs on the board. Selwood seems to be to be someone who can stand up at a very critical moment of the game and will his side over the line, moreso than Murphy anyway. Murphy has definitely impressed me and has taken his game to a level this year that I honestly didn't believe it could go to.
Voted Selwood, but the gap is as small as it's ever been.

I just call it like I see it, and Murphy is the better player, particularly this year. I guess Selwood is considered ahead because he has a couple of flags, but that's more a team award.

If you asked me 9 times out of 10 id say Selwood. The other time id still say Selwood.

He either has to change his way this bloke or is not going to be remembered for his genuine talent

People whinging about Selwood's free kicks are ridiculous. More often than not he wins the ball in the first place by going in harder than anyone else. Not his fault the umps pay the free kicks - in fact, it's to his and the team's advantage.

Genuinely undecided about who I'd take. Firmly on the fence with this one.

Murphy having really good year..but selwood has had 4 of those in a row....was in amazing touch before suspension....amazing how 4 weeks off and a couple average games changes everyones mind...selwood will come out and get 38 touches and kick 2 goals this week and all of a sudden his gods gift again

Murphy was brilliant in 2009. Just missed out on AA selection. Unfortunately injury stopped him from reaching the same heights last year. By his own admission, he wasn't able to complete training sessions regularly until the last third of the season.

Fully fit in 2011 and he's been arguably the best midfielder in the competition this season.
