North dodged a huge bullet and were saved from themselves...their contract offer to De Goey was always ridiculous considering he had only 1 decent season and came with other issues.

For the contract they were offering you need to be getting a proven performer and ideally a leader...not a guy with questionable work ethic and a few off field issues.

Yep...even Kelly has been rather average and not worth $1 million.

Arguably no player worth their contract offer, but if you're gonna do it, it has to be for a champion like Fyfe before his last contract extension, ablett in his prime, Pendlebury in his prime who also offers leadership etc because you know they will deliver...not young players with potential but also off field issues.

Jono Brown says off the back of tonight he deserves a million a year. Lucky for Collingwood he’s not the list manager.

Agree. Was 1 good game. Needs to keep it up

The difference between Collingwood winning a flag or not is the form of this bloke
Surgery could rule out star Pie for weeks
Collingwood forward Jordan De Goey injured his finger during his five-goal haul against Geelong.

However De Goey is understood to be bracing for surgery, with the likelihood of ligament damage being suffered against the Cats.
Often surgery of that nature can lead to stints of up to two months on the sidelines with the Pies expected to on Friday reveal how many weeks he could miss with the injury.

He will be missing for a few weeks .........

Guess no Flag as looks like he Could be Done for the Season.

Not sure what that does to his Negotiation Power

Double whammy for him really - very talented player but the knock on him is poor off field habits and injury prone.

So lately gets charged with a serious offence and then gets an 8 week injury......

With the Serious Charge would anyone take the Risk getting him then?

Saw a post today that showed his cast on his arm after his finger surgery - all the way up his arm.

The caption was " its only a finger"

When one is facing a sexual assualt charge - perhaps not the best club sanctioned quote to attach.

Go Catters
