Josh Carr's Ruthless Port Adelaide

Do you know if Choco would be willing to take on a part-time role then?

In a situation that we get the best of both worlds.

Don't think any role would be part-time. Think it would be more like a guest appearance for a day or two in the pre-season.

Well the first thing they'll be doing under Carr is getting rid of Holly Ransom running the men's leadership program.

Unless they replace her with another corporate with zero real life experience rainbow flag waiving wannabe, it'll be a huge upgrade irrespective of who gets that job.
The fact that they even had her do this is shocking. I’ve had the (mis)fortune of being subjected to many of these leadership gurus over the years doing the corporate gig speaking circuit and she was one of the least impressive by far.

I'm on board with that. Choco will pump Port Adelaide into their veins very quickly.

Hope Josh's is more Citius, Altius, Fortius than near enough is good enough, finals are scary and somebodies gotta lose.

If Josh is anything like he was as a player, as a coach, then we are in very good hands.
That is what I have put my faith in.

Same, and to be honest with you, REH. What he's currently done, even before his takeover, has made me smile.

Tapped on the shoulder, his best mate Chad Cornes told him he's not continuing on the journey, which is a big tick. If this was Ken, he would have recommended CD to sign him up for another two.

Tapped Travis Boak on the shoulder and told him that he’s not continuing his journey at Port Adelaide either, again, if it was Ken, he would have given Trav another one-year deal.

This fills me with so much hope for Josh, and I'll even go as far as to say that he'll be our next premiership coach. When I hear things from someone like Zak, who was interviewed after the game on Fox, I think Ben Dixon asked him, "So, what's Josh like as a coach?" and Zak replied, "Ruthless.” I even heard Timmy G the other week mention on AA, that at the end of the 2017 season, North Adelaide finished dead last, 10th, with a record of 4-14 for the year. Josh brought Bucky Cunningham down to give the club an external review. Josh followed every letter of that review Bucky made, and the next season, in 2018, North Adelaide won the premiership.

This clearly indicates that Josh is hell-bent on winning premierships and will turn over every stone he has to in order to win a premiership.

Bucky coming back to do a review of the club would heat the cockles of my Port Adelaide heart.

If I'm Josh Carr, 2026 starts with a parting message for 2025. TIME... in big bold letters next to photos of Ken, Trav, Charlie and Robbie. Time, in football, as in life is something you don't get any more of and you can't get back. These blokes all made a lot of friends and enjoyed the journey. But they left the football world without the one thing you set out to achieve from the day you decide to be an AFL footballer. Making friends and having a laugh is great but you can do that anywhere. Real mateship is forged in the heat of the battle, being truly tested, in pursuit of the ultimate goal. Winning a premiership. You don't talk about it, you earn it. If you're not here for that, then lots of luck, enjoy your life after football, starting today. Every. Single. One. Of. You. Are running out of time. If I'm Josh Carr, I'm staying that our time wasting stops today. Everything we do from this day forward is about winning a premiership. You can be a part of that or you can enjoy watching us win one from the stands. It starts today. Our time is now. Come back ready to get to work. We've got premierships to win.

Josh should seek you out - quite the inspirational speech.

Provided he's given the same power to do what he wants. Quite a few egos at the club may want to have their say and block him from making changes.
By the sounds of it from Tredders, I think he mentioned this after the Carlton game two weeks ago, that he will get full reign like Ken has for thirteen years.

Chewy316 please correct me if I’m wrong.

I actually think we've done pretty well with those 3 mid season picks. They all have showed they've got a bit of something.
I just hope they all don't go backwards after a Port Adelaide pre-season.

What's the go with coaching staff? Was the August deadline just about out of contract staff? Or all staff? i.e. is Josh forced to work with who we have, or can we still move assistant coaches on so Josh can bring in who he wants?

Here's what we're stuck with

I can imagine Josh Carr punching a wall and kicking his dog when he got told Mead has a contract so he can’t delist him today.
